My Question is? How she Pardoned the wilmington 10. when After it Happened they Bragged Publicially Outloud about Doing it Then. Of Course 10 Years After it Happened the 2 Mani Witnesses then Recant Their Statement (It'n That Perjury). But them again plenty enough time to give them a BIG PAY OFF to Recant!!!

  • miketroll3572 Dec 28, 7:07 p.m.

A legend in her own mind thats for sure.

  • paultaylorsr100 Dec 28, 6:18 p.m.

Can't someone PLEASE get her off my computer???

  • early exit Roy Dec 28, 5:26 p.m.

I can sum it up in a few words. She was absolutely horrible and everytime she opened her mouth it sound like she had a mouth full of tobacco. Two or three times she made such stupid statements they were on national radio stations. She was an embarassment to out state.

  • US VET Dec 28, 4:36 p.m.

I am proud of her. She has earned her place in history as NC's worst governor..

  • workingforthosethatwont Dec 28, 4:29 p.m.

    I voted for Obama.

Not something to be proud of. You probably think sports players are heros as well.

"My mistake. I gave your brain too much credit. You voted for NDAA, Patriot Act, Federal Reserve, TSA, drug war, human war, do I need to go on???" - vinylcarwraps23

Yes I did... but it was a better option than voting for a vulture capitalist.

  • Minarchist Dec 28, 3:56 p.m.

I voted for Obama. I am an independent. I never left a comment saying that Romney had a chance. Please dig one up and provide a link to it. I did make posts pointing out the absurdities of both presendential candidates in their positions on particular issues.

If you think I supported Romney - you are delusional.

She might be right about being re-elected. After all the country elected the President with the highest deficit, worst unemployment rate and is the most deceptive administration in history all because he handed out money that wasn't his! = YANKEE

UMM actually he won becaue you libs thought Romney had a chance. A lib against a lib? What did you think would happen? You act like a lifelong Roney supporter. You only voted for him because your TV told you to. Please!

  • dsalter Dec 28, 3:01 p.m.

For the one who said she was dealt a bad hand...well, she was the Lt. Governor and knew exactly what Easly was doing and what she was receiving...was she not? Campaign funds and all. She is totally unqualified to run this state. She has been nothing more than a figurehead who constantly robbed the state lottery for balancing the budget and repaying the federal government for borrowed medicaid payments. I'm sure the unemployment money has been considered too. The lottery was her cash cow without a doubt, just like the federal government used to raid Social Security every time it needed quick cash. That's one reason it's in the mess it is today.

  • lec02572 Dec 28, 2:38 p.m.

  • nufsaid Dec 28, 1:47 p.m.

Bev was a joke when she was running in 2008. She didn't appear at the debates she pledged to attend after she was embarrassed in the early ones. She won because of straight ticket voting.

  • plowdman2 Dec 28, 1:42 p.m.

She was the worst governor that we could have possibly had and will ever have. all we heard was schools and children what about jobs and lower gas taxes? goodby bev

She might be right about being re-elected. After all the country elected the President with the highest deficit, worst unemployment rate and is the most deceptive administration in history all because he handed out money that wasn't his! Kudos to NC for not following suit, but with Bev, who knows. Even though Johnny still can't read, folks still seem to by in to the sympathy gig around school kids! Educate yourselves, PLEASE!!!

  • dwood4672 Dec 28, 1:02 p.m.

this joke is a large part of the reason people don't take folks from nc seriously...

"based upon my unofficial math you have a 98% of the people with a negative view and prolly about 2% that think you did a good job-- wonder why 98% of the people think you were a diaster bev?" - wildpig777

My understanding is that a survey taken immediately before Bev decided not to run showed that she had a 13% approval rating across North Carolina. This is the lowest of any governor in the U.S. and the lowest in history on any North Carolina governor. This helped reinforce her own party's demand that she not run for a second term.

  • tgentry1005 Dec 28, 12:52 p.m.

What did you expect her to say? She is a politician that is totally motivated by her political party. It does not matter what is best for the State...

One of the biggest whiners I have known about in politics in over 60 years...

She says the Republicans were not bad people to work with but not in public. Maybe she needed to work a little better in public and the State would have been better off.

  • Stringbean Dec 28, 12:49 p.m.

It amazes me at the way you think. Not only are you delusional but if you are that partisan I really hope you live to EAT those words. You are one sadistic poster.

  • GarnerDoug Dec 28, 12:14 p.m.

A civil servant who is elected to a job, and "regrets" having such a tough challenge of a deficit to "deal with" and can't accomplish the goals he/she had instead. Folks, no politics needed here. ESPECIALLY we self-employed who "campaign" for a job and dollar every day.

Are you kidding me Bev? You did nothing for all of us. You did nothing for NC for four years but whine. You complained you didn't have enough money (read: more tax money to spend!) for your pipe dreams. Mississippi laughed at us. Mississippi laughed at us for your comments. You had no strategic plan (read: all politicians), no agenda, no goals. You did a disservice to yourself, all Democrats, all North Carolinians doing NOTHING for four years. Wish I could pay all my family's bills and build my business doing nothing. Wait, no I don't.

  • pappybigtuna1 Dec 28, 12:06 p.m.

does she really see herself with rose colored glasses, being a in politics makes you great in your own mind.

She had many tools to correct and lower revenue problems, her resolve was to raise tax, this does not give anyone creditability, to make people pay for poor management

She took many trips on our dime and she also included many friends to join her on our dime.

If she was in office one more year, we would be facing a pre-conception pre-natal pre-day care pre-school kindergarden. This has been the worst 4 years of my old life

  • dejavu2u Dec 28, 11:58 a.m.

I always felt embarrassed to be from NC whenever she spoke on camera. Bev, you've lost touch with reality. Worst governor ever, agree!

"the governor argued, she made "modest" investments in education and economic development that paid off with more jobs and educational opportunities."

But she has never repaid the "education lottery" the $88 million she transferred to the general fund. Pot meet Kettle!

  • wildpig777 Dec 28, 11:18 a.m.

welp- based on the go lo posts here today -- bev, yer a diaster. I do think go lo posts generally represents the average citizen's views of this state which means bev--- you didnt have a clue 4 yrs ago and based on your recent statements concerning your "leadership" you havent got a clue now.

based upon my unofficial math you have a 98% of the people with a negative view and prolly about 2% that think you did a good job-- wonder why 98% of the people think you were a diaster bev?

  • lumberman Dec 28, 10:37 a.m.

This state nor this country will ever get better until we curb the dependence on the government for everything. In Halifax County which is by far one of the poorest counties in the state it seems as if every one has a welfare card. There used to be a little humility among people with food stamps. Folks were ashamed to have to used them. Today people are proud to be on the government dole. The saddest part is that most people I see in the store with a welfare card are dressed nicer than I dress. Their baskets are fuller than mine. Most have better phones than I have. Welfare was designed to be a helping hand not a way of life as it has come to be.

  • same ole story Dec 28, 10:37 a.m.

Just like Obama in complete denial of her inability to lead or turn things around. THE WORST GOV. IN THE HISTORY OF NC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dsalter Dec 28, 10:34 a.m.

The ONLY person to think she did a "good job" is her. She's the worst governor we've had and for her to think she could have been re-elected is a joke. I have a different idea....the reason she didn't run was to save herself the humiliation. The opposition would have eaten her alive with her track record.

  • truthmatterstome2 Dec 28, 10:25 a.m.

So, you're still your own best critic. Don't let the screen door hit you on your way out!

  • beachboater Dec 28, 10:24 a.m.

Bev "fixed" the economy with one-time federal stimulus funds. She created recurring jobs, with a non-recurring source of revenue to fund those jobs. We still owe the federal government BILLIONS in unemployment payments which raises the federal unemployment tax for every business in the state by a significant amount. The majority of states have paid the feds back.

After the debates back in 2008, I was shocked that she was elected. I guess nobody else watched them.

The only think I hate about her not running for reelection is to see how lopsided her loss would have been.

(sarcasm switch=on) Thank you Bev, for your great leadership (sarcasm switch=off)

  • gswalker51 Dec 28, 10:19 a.m.

"I made a promise I would do not one thing to harm North Carolina...". Well, if you remove the "to harm North Carolina" part, that may be the most accurate statement made by a Democrat in decades.

  • Relic Dec 28, 10:14 a.m.

"You two party sheep are hilarious."

Actually, I'm an independent (see my posts on Richard Moore). Perdue's incompetence has nothing to do with "two parties". She wasn't fit to be in charge of refreshments at a Girl Scout Meeting.

  • pclong2214 Dec 28, 10:14 a.m.

THE best thing bev did for the people of NC was not run for re-election. She couldn't have won if she ran unopposed.

  • gswalker51 Dec 28, 10:13 a.m.

Wait...hold on...was Jeff Dunham's hand up her back when she said she would be re-elected? If it was, then that's really funny. If it wasn't, it's just scary.

  • GoGreen Dec 28, 10:10 a.m.

Folks, I'm as liberal as they come. Bev stunk as a Governor. I take some solace in having not voted for her in the first place or the goof that tried to follow her. It is no wonder to me why the 'Publicans have taken over state politics. The Democratic Party in this state is dysfunctional and in disarray. Jim Black, Meg Scott Phipps, Easley, Edwards and now Purdue. It is going to take a long time for the Democratic Party in this state to rebuild the trust of the people.

  • beachboater Dec 28, 10:09 a.m.

"I went to bed one night and looked in the mirror and made a promise I would do not one thing to harm North Carolina, that every single decision I made would be in the best interest of the state, to leave her better than I found her," she said. "I think I'm doing that, so I feel like I've done a really good job."

So she admits that she has a mirror on the ceiling to be looking in the mirror after going to bed. And feeling like she has done a good job. I think she must have been in bed, asleep, and having a really good dream.

And thinking she could have easily won reelection, well that was a really good dream.
