  • jrhodes52 Dec 26, 12:12 p.m.

I'd rather for the weather forecasters to be wrong and we be prepared, than for them not to mention severe weather possiblities and the weather hit us head on without warning.

  • jblake1932 Dec 26, 11:59 a.m.

Already lived through the Tornadoes April 16th, 2011...Don't need or want a repeat. It was havoc on our subdivision!

  • Jimmytwotimes Dec 26, 10:54 a.m.

My weather instict tells me its just to cold out for storms and severe weather.

  • Reformed Liberal Dec 26, 10:24 a.m.

"LOL you do know you have a better chance of dying falling down the stairs than by a terrorist act correct?"

That is totally irrelevant. However there is big difference between living in fear and being alert. I would very much like to be alerted if a tornado comes by.

  • Skywatch_NC Dec 26, 9:55 a.m.

Hopefully the rain and rain-cooled air mass will help to keep us from getting any strong to severe t-storms today. Prayers and thoughts with the folks in the Gulf states.

  • Minarchist Dec 26, 9:54 a.m.

Another "run for the hills" article from the weather center. I think I will continue to live my life and not live in fear.

We know who lives in fear now. Being alert and living in fear are far apart. I see some of your comments. You do live in fear. You think you are going to die in a terrorist attack. LOL you do know you have a better chance of dying falling down the stairs than by a terrorist act correct?

  • simplelogic Dec 26, 9:32 a.m.

Jblake, when EVERY weather outlet is saying the same thing (and actually WRAL is being comparatively low-key about it), it behooves folks to pay attention. Living in fear and keeping your eyes open are not the same thing. Stay safe.

  • BritBrat Dec 26, 9:26 a.m.

Be safe and if you dont have to be out...STAY IN!!! Some folks can't even drive when its clear outdoors, with this rain it would be real real real BADDDDDDDDDDD!!!

  • lwe1967 Dec 26, 9:16 a.m.

Please, everyone listen to Nate! There are already three people killed in Mississippi and Alabama. They had to content with the tornadoes while it was dark. We will be in daylight! May God Bless us all!

  • PanthersFan45 Dec 26, 9:08 a.m.

It was coming down in buckets when I left my North Raleigh home this morning and that was at 6:00AM. It's looking like we'll get a lot of rain out of this, which we desperately need. I just hope no severe weather accompanies it ..... keeping my fingers crossed. I'd hate to see people seeking shelter because of storm damage.

  • JohnnyVoodoo Dec 26, 8:41 a.m.

This doesn't look good and could be catastrophic. Based on what this storm did in other parts of the country, we could be looking at areas of total devastation. Not a good way to end up the year or begin a new one.

  • what the........ Dec 26, 8:26 a.m.

Finally getting the rain we need so badly. That's good!

  • lavenderdejectedmoon Dec 26, 8:06 a.m.

I hope that everyone stays safe today.
