How do you only get 18 months for being an accessory to MURDER?!?

This guy wasn't just a friend according to previous WRAL postings. These two planned for a late delivery to leave the store empty for an attack on the manager.

18 months??? He'll be back, nothing like a slap on the wrist to make you more vicious. Conspire to murder someone and get a pass...Unreal!!!!!

No wonder ppl are killing each other....if you are involved in a murder you should get more that 18 months...

From the article, what did he do?

===================

Well from the article it said - "He was indicted earlier this month on more charges, including two counts of obstruction of justice and one count each of accessory after the fact to assault and accessory after the fact to robbery."

In other words, withheld info and help Sherman after the fact.

I agree with BubbaDukeforPresident. I'd like to also add if a felon is caught with a firearm, they should get 25 years without any question. Afterall, they are felons, they know what they're doing wrong. Our system needs to keep those found guilty in jail for the full term of their sentence. We are arresting people on their second and third crimes while they should still be in jail from their first one! Talk about bogging the system down.

From the article, what did he do? He was only the friend of the guy that did it all. He was working with his last delivery and he called 911 to report it.

I don't see it in this article, but my guess is he was offered a lighter sentence in exhange for his plea (testifying maybe ?). I haven't followed the case that closely, but I agree with others, 18 months seems like a short time for his participation in a crime like this.

GLAD TO SEE SOME JUSTICE IN THIS CASE IT HAS TAKEN LONG ENOUGH, AND 18 MO IS NOT LONG ENOUGH FOR HIS PART IN THE KILLING OF ANYONE.

Our criminal justice system needs a complete over-haul. If you break into someone's home or business, it should be an automatic 5-10 year prison sentence. If someone is harmed in the commission of the burglary, a minimum of 25 years to life is justified. If a weapon of any type is used, tack on another 25 years; and if someone is killed in the commission of a crime the criminal should be given a choice between hanging and firing squad, carried out within 30 days of conviction.
