lasm: I am confused on the article also. Terrible content and journalism report writing.

Even though he was her husband, by law he is a child predator and is on the list. She knew better and took her chances. So glad she was caught. She should have met her husband anywhere but where she lives. Then she would not have been charged. But she put the child in a dangerous situation and will now have to face her on dire consequences.

he was charged with sexual assault of a woman in NJ. they weren't togther at that time. He moved here. he met her and they got married. He didnt register as sex offender in NC and lost his job a few years ago. Now a new chapter is that there was a minor in the home for a while that he was molesting and this woman apparently "didnt have knowledge of the sex, but just the fact that he was a sex offender" and she knew she wasn't supposed to have a child in the home. she was able to convince law enforcement anyway. Who knows how true that was. That is why her bail etc was so low. sickening.

His victim was 18 or older.

She was an adult, obviously. But he had to have taken advantage of her to have that kind of charge hanging over his head. Media needs to bring a correct story and clear understanding.

woman for caring for a minor in her home where a registered sex offender lived.

A desperate woman needing a man in her life gave no regard to the child. She should have been charged. Maybe from this she will learn something from it. The man should have been charged, because he knew full well that he was not suppose to be around any children.

"His victim was 18 or older." Does this sentence make sense? I had a hard time following the whole article because of the way it was written. Is the current victim a minor or not. It states in the first paragraph that the victim is a minor. But it also states that the victim moved in and out the home over a 9 yr period. Or is the article talking about the minor in NJ? Very un-professionally written.....Either way, abuse is abuse; and he should be in jail-and so should his wife.

Manuel Ferrer was charged with 22 felony counts of this. He does not deserve to breath the same air as decent folks.

How stupid - why would you want a minor anywhere near these type of people - use your brain!!! DUH!!

@fl9826024 - What would you prefer? We wait until we can categorize this child as his next victim? I think not. It's illegal for him to be around children due to his past crimes. If his wife had the child hide when probation officers came checking then she knew she was doing wrong. Charge her too!

Wiat, if he was original charged for these acts while they shared a house in New Jersey, why is she not charged and not required to list herself on the sex offender registry? It sounds to me that she not only enables but encourages it.
