I was wondering where they were finding all that money, they knew this was coming. So they just got happy and wasted it.

Don't gripe about the lotto money. Since the lotto was (illegally) voted in, our schools have become so great that about a third of the students get all the education they need in 9-10 years.

The state should re-run some of the pro-lottery commercials that aired back then. The claims they made were laughable then, but would be absolutely hilarious today.

If they keep on continuing making ridiculous anti-constitutional laws such as telling private business owners if they can allow smoking in their establishments, or where you can smoke OUTSIDE... they can forget getting this big payouts from shakedowns of tobacco companies.

How about tightening up our WIC/welfare/food stamp programs to folk who dont want to work and all the other govt handouts to illegal immigrants and the government wouldnt have to chase down private sectors

You Smoke that is your addiction, well alot of people are addicted to Beer, whiskey and wine, which by car accidents alone kill more people. No law suits against them. I saw read the warning labels, if not your medical bills are yours POINT BLANK _diot

Well if everyone who stupidly ingests toxic smoke into their lungs should have free healthcare, I guess those with heart disease and other life-threatening diseases should to then. That way most of Americans would have free health insurance....I all for that as a heart patient, not from smoking I must add, but that is the stupidest post I have ever read.

Now if NC will just stop the sale of beer and alcohol and sue the companies for damages. Alcohol has filled our prisons with people. Alcohol has cost us much more than cigarettes. I think we still have ABC stores all over this state selling that poison drink. People should file a class action suit against the state for damages that result in people drinking.

Amazing at how our Government blackmails and shakes down companies. The Government has collected more than enough money in tax receipts off the sale of tobacco products to pay for any supposed cost of health care. On top of that they then collected taxes on the company profits and on the paychecks of all the people working in the industry. This money will disappear into the meat grinder of the State Coffers. Very little of this money if any will be use for health care for smokers. Every smoker in this country should be able to get FREE Health care. They paid for it.

When are all these states going to thank the tobacco companies since all these fines go to helping balance their budgets which they cannot do without them?..........And y'all want to ban smoking because you have never tried it and don't like breathing bad air and you think the little 5 year old boys and girls who die of cancer from smoking????????????? Health issues is a big scam,health industry and doctors are a joke.
