Please check the crime maps at the link above in the story for " Raleigh crime map and alerts "just from the first of the month and search solely on shootings...Its alarming as I said and when you look at all the crimes just for the 18th of Dec as example its staggering...Raleigh is not like it used to be and is hitting the headlines more and more. Many other crimes just don't hit the pages for the masses to see...Publications will change in the future to show this new surge in Raleigh. It may not exceed Durhams but its on the rise!!!

So if a county is larger but hits the headlines more for shootings lately it doesn't count because there is more people to reduce the %.??...You are reading way too much into this and trying to defend Raleigh who in fact has hit the headlines more lately with shootings and stabbings. Crime is on the rise in Raleigh lately at an alarming rate..Thats the facts...I have never been a victim of crime living in Durham over 24yrs, but have been 3 times in Raleigh and buddy robbed at gunpoint.That`s good enough proof for me on changing statistics..

Google search shows the shot man has a history of dealing drugs. I guess we know what happened here.

Carlton Place is the Chavis Heights projects. It's still a haven for the entitlement crowd. Just a matter of time before the new place will be in ruins just like the old place. Nothing free is appreciated or taken care of.

You have no idea what you are talking about.....you wouldn't know a six gun froma six pack and would def be one I would keep guns away from. It would do a world of good when talking about anything that you have some knowlege about what you are talking about.

Write all the laws you want. Will never stop a criminal/crazy person from killing. They have used planes, trucks filled with fertilizer, dynamite and letter bombs to name a few. What difference is it if the horror is 1 or two a year for 20 years or 20 in one shot? I find greater fault in us a society than I will ever in a inanimate object. You must deal with your criminals. You must identify and treat or if need be contain those individuals with violent tendencies. If holes are within a current laws - fix them. Lastly, media is absolutely partly responsible for this environment of hate. It is in your movies, tv shows and your music. It has been used to babysit your kids and you wonder how they got such a hard heart? Also, and be honest now - when you watch a movie - what kind is it? We need to confront this issues or no real change will ever occur.

If the victim has non life threatening injuries, he should count himself lucky and secondly, he can describe the suspect minimally speaking.
