Where are all of the PRO GUN CONTROL comments. I guess its because the woman actually defended herself inside her own home. Facts are facts! The gun control crowd will make up some scenerio to make her action a crime or say that she endangered everyone arround her for five miles with her six shooter antics. (Yes, I read that it was a 20 Ga. shotgun.)

"When I did my conceal carry class, the sheriff deputy told us that we needed to expect that our gun would be taken and not returned, even if we were in the right, and defending ourselves."

A classic example of tyrannical Government. they should be required to provide you with a loaner until your own weapon can be returned to you. they should only get two weeks to hold your weapon.

  • whatelseisnew Dec 14, 6:40 p.m.

    Good for her.

  • tatermommy52 Dec 14, 6:02 p.m.

Judge Greg Weeks will convict her of something.

  • Barfly Dec 14, 5:49 p.m.

Good job. Refuse to become a victim.

  • trianglerelic Dec 14, 5:41 p.m.

I'd be curious to know if the police confiscated her shotgun as evidence. When I did my conceal carry class, the sheriff deputy told us that we needed to expect that our gun would be taken and not returned, even if we were in the right, and defending ourselves.

GOOD SHOT AND ASK QUESTIONS LATER. Every female should own a gun that lives alone.

  • Scubagirl Dec 14, 4:08 p.m.

GOOD FOR HER!!!! Glad she's ok, and NO WAY would I blame her.

  • dsalter Dec 14, 3:50 p.m.

Situations such as THIS was the very reason the Castle Doctrine was developed. Can anyone blame her for what she did? The Castle Doctrine does not permit someone to chase someone down the street while they are fleeing, but to protect yourself. Good for her!

  • uragoner2 Dec 14, 3:47 p.m.

...and may God bless the woman.

  • SmokeWagon Dec 14, 3:46 p.m.

..."Glad she was able to defend herself and that she is safe..."

Yep...a right that all to many are all to willing to give up for a 911 call after the fact, and a contract government employee....!!!

  • Union Cavalry Dec 14, 3:37 p.m.

    FINAL RESULTS: 20-GAUGE SHOTGUN 1, CROOKS 0

  • bluecanary Dec 14, 3:22 p.m.

Good for her. Lesson to criminals: if you are breaking into my house while I am there, I am going to assume you are coming in to kill me, and I am going to shoot you. Also, I will not just wing you on the arm.

  • JohnnyVoodoo Dec 14, 3:18 p.m.

This woman is a hero! This story should go national and all the major media outlets should give it legs and let this hero headline their news stories!

  • ncveteranswife Dec 14, 2:58 p.m.

Glad she was able to defend herself and that she is safe...Sounds like these criminals broke into the wrong house and she had something for them!!!

  • Rebelyell55 Dec 14, 2:49 p.m.

I think there should be a collection taken up to buy her more ammo, and shooting lesson to improve her aim. It's cheaper than paying their doctor bill and up keep for the next three years (wishful thinking on that one).

  • justjean Dec 14, 2:47 p.m.

Too bad she wasn't a better shot.

  • sillywabbitthepatriot Dec 14, 2:47 p.m.

    She's a bad mamma jamma!

  • ncveteranswife Dec 14, 2:45 p.m.

Yes, good for her......sounds like these criminals broke into the wrong house and I'm glad she had something for them!

  • kermit60 Dec 14, 2:02 p.m.

I guess her shotgun got there faster than the deputy. Gald to see she stood up and defended herself and her friend.

  • feelin41 Dec 14, 2:00 p.m.

Good for her!!! That's what this world is coming to, having to use deadly force to protect yourself. It's a shame but it's the truth.

  • highcountry Dec 14, 1:48 p.m.

    Good for her!

  • Ambygirl Dec 14, 1:46 p.m.

YOU GO GIRL!!!! Too bad you didn't get both of them!!

  • lopo Dec 14, 1:44 p.m.

Good for her, i guess some groups would believe we would be safer if they hurt her and took what they wanted. Heck that shotgun she used to defend her life could have gotten into wrong hands.

  • working for deadbeats Dec 14, 1:42 p.m.

Good for her! It could have been a lot worse WITHOUT that gun ready for her.

  • nonemeant Dec 14, 1:38 p.m.

Have gun, will shoot. You go girl!!
