@retiredindependentpopo , There is no stretch read the original constitution sometime. It says it in there , everyone wants to go back to the way the fonding fathers wanted to. Unless you are telling me you haven't read the constitution?

  • retiredindependentpopo Dec 14, 7:58 p.m.

You are exactly right Rebelyell55. What happened to the moral compass of America. The Progressives helped it get thrown out the window by the ACLU and the extremists.

  • retiredindependentpopo Dec 14, 7:55 p.m.

Here we go with the "malitia" nonsense. If you can stretch Roe v. Wade why can't the gun owners stretch the 2nd Ammendment?

  • Disabled Vet Dec 14, 7:54 p.m.

The most devastating school massacre did not involve a gun. It was done in a school, I believe it might have been China, where 47 children were killed by a lunatic with a bomb. This shows that lunatics bent on killing will always find a way to accomplish their mission.

Instead of crying for more gun control, we need to be crying for the lives that were lost today!

    Crumps Br0ther

He repeated the information that he believed to be true did you even read his comment that I was commenting on????????? I'm guessing not. Go figure, would you like to jump to more conclusions that make you feel better about yourself even though those are also incorrect?

  • Rebelyell55 Dec 14, 7:53 p.m.

As some has pointed out, this has nothing to do with gun control, it's a moral issue. Look at his age. When did we decide that pray won't allowed in school? I'm a christian, I don't care if they pray or not, but at what point do we stop some type of right and wrong morality in schools? Ya can't pray, Ya can't say the pledge to the flag, so where is any sense of right or wrong taught. If ya say it up the parent, then that would be the answer to what is wrong and why it can't be stopped. Can't leave it the schools because they would be set up a law suit. We've driving the wedge into what could be the source of communication of right and wrong. We as a nation has created this monster, and it has nothing to do with gun control, it has all to do with teaching of morality, decency and respect for others.

The government of the UK, not the US. They were used in the American Revolutionary War, and let's not forget hunting for food and protection.

@ rebelyell55 The second admendment also states that it is your civic responsibility to belong to a malitia in barring arms well that was before the courts decided to change that years after it was written. That is something people tend to not know either

. So you have a place that doesnt allow guns, cops outside with guns but they cant attack the building, and a guy with a gun inside with no one to stop him. So tell me smart guy how do you stop it? CrumpsBrother.

I tell you what "smart guy", having a bunch of trigger happy loons inside the building ready to pop a cap into anyone that makes a fast move is a nightmare waiting to happen. Fast trigger vigilante's who say " I thought he had a gun", " I felt threatened", " he looked suspicious". The last thing I want are people like you, with your lack of logic and restraint, armed and ready for action at the drop of a hat.

crumpbrother so the Fact that it is wrong in its information negates responsible information in headlines? I'm not a lib but the misinformation is crazy and getting worst. Just like people saying how the "libs" will ban guns. The first four years I heard it and gun laws got looser not tighter. Second in 2008 as I have said one hundred times now it was a republican written bill, back by three other republicans for the reinstatemt of the assult weapons ban and also expanded it to cover more weapons. H.R. 6257 it was the last bill to hit the floor on gun control. You are comparing countries that any other time you would tell a person he had lost his mind to compare us to them.

  • acsider Dec 14, 7:45 p.m.

I am not giving up my guns unless the criminals give up their weapons. The only people who will benefit from gun control are the criminals. The school shootings and the movie theater shootings are places where law abiding citizens can't legally carry! Criminals break the laws, those who follow the rules need to be allowed to carry in more places.

  • Crumps Br0ther Dec 14, 7:44 p.m.

Yikes, the right wing wing nuts have been saying Obama was going to take away their guns since before his first term as president. The day after his election guns sales spiked through the roof with nut cases claiming he was coming after their guns. Has he? NOPE. jjsmith1973

That may be true but republicans were the first to introduce civil rights laws, facts which get twisted and ignored, that democrats strongly opposed. In fact a young Mitt Romneys father marched for civil rights, and yet somehow Mitt was a racist? And owning a gun is a right as well. So what were you saying about republicans again? Yep as usual the right does all the work and the left takes all the credit so they can pander.

Almost all of these mass shootings have been stopped only when the shooter committed suicide. If I were a teacher, I'd want to be able to carry a concealed weapon to protect not only myself but my students as well.

These fanatics usually go only where there's no one there to shoot back, and they're almost always able to unload a blitzkrieg before it ceases.

Without doubt, the coming months will be filled with "ban guns" screams from MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS and of course the News & Observer. After hearing all this ranting, the Obama administration will be convinced they have a mandate to all but eliminate citizen possession of guns outside the home.

My best guess is that if Obama can't legislate guns out of the hands of citizens, he'll then try to TAX them out of the hands of citizens.

  • Crumps Br0ther Dec 14, 7:19 p.m.

Knowing that people are armed just makes it more exciting for them. A suicide mission is always more dangerous. They have nothing to lose.
    atheistswillrule

I dont know what youre trying to say, but your're wrong as usual. This guy was going for maximum damage, thats why he went someplace where he knew no one would could fight back, and I think he was trying to prove a point maybe will find that out later. Yes most spree killers want to die, but some of them are too weak to kill themselves so they do "suicide by cop" look it up its a real thing. So lets say he was alive when the cops got there outside? What could they do, they are not going to storm the building without a sitrep and endanger themselves. All this time doing a sitrep gives the shooter more time to hurt more people. So you have a place that doesnt allow guns, cops outside with guns but they cant attack the building, and a guy with a gun inside with no one to stop him. So tell me smart guy how do you stop it?

See, that's what happens when someone makes a comment about a subject they know nothing about.

In truth, a type of mild brainwashing does occur in boot camp, but not the way you think or are purporting. Soldiers aren't made into mindless automatons; they are trained so that their bad habits are eliminated and their character is expanded. This is necessary and is done so they will function well within a group because that's the way they will be working - in a group which has to function as a well-oiled machine to keep the majority of its members alive under the most horrific of circumstances.

What type of comments would you expect from the state that cranks out more professionally trained military murdering machines than any other? Those that served in the military had their wills and personalities broken, so they can be rebuilt to kill on command, something that is against human nature. The real problem is if every body is carrying guns and every body is highly trained, what will prevent the highly trained gun carrying mentally ill person from killing you before you can kill him? This is an UN-winnable argument, like the snake eating it's own tail. Those that believe that superior firepower is the solution to everything will NEVER EVER consider that there may be peaceful ways to resolve conflicts. It's perfectly reflected in our foreign policy and our schools. This psycho seemed like he was pretty well prepared,

I am afraid this boy had surpressed angry toward his parents that built to a very dangerous point. There are so many young people that are blaming their parents for a lot of things that are wrong in their lives because a lot of parents are absent in their lives. They might live in the same house, share the same food but they are so far apart from each other.
