What are his thoughts about the State Board of Elections?

  • Come On_Seriously Dec 14, 10:06 a.m.

"Why would anyone put natural gas pumps in a forest? Wouldn't they be along a road where cars that run on natural gas can be driven to them?" fishon

Ha! Is this a real question? Same reason you don't fish in your front yard where its convenient rather than spend all that time getting in a boat and inconveniently getting to where the fish are. Fracking wells will be put wherever they think the gas is located. They'll then build roads to the wells and 100 to 1 the vehicles that service them do not run on natural gas either.

  • Crumps Br0ther Dec 14, 8:41 a.m.

No worries, it will all be over in 4 years, let the Repubs enjoy it while it lasts! Demographics are NOT on their side, thank goodness.

ashwednesday36- I thought that bevvie was the Education Governor. Goodness knows we heard it out of her mouth, PLENTY!!! Did she not straighten everything out? She still has a TON of money in her campaign coffers. She should have to donate it to education. That woman has ruined the opportunity for any woman to ever be elected Gov again.

OleNCNative - Check out workforpat.com http://www.workforpat.com/share-your-ideas/ He is also on Facebook.

Mommyoftwo- Looking to see who the new ESC chief is! Time they got somebody who had a clue. $40 million to paint that run down health hazard of a building on Wade? Seriously? So worried about spending all that money, but could care less about the employees or the people of NC. It is time to turn this buggy around.

Remember haters...all those years of Democratic leadership got NC to #1 in roads, highly ranked in public universities, created an environment where furniture and textile manufacturing thrived, poultry and swine farms thrived, huge bridges connecting the outer banks to the mainland, and facilitation of things like RTP. The Democratic party in NC has maintained what is referred to as a 'business progressive' approach to governing which is a very pragmatic style. I think McCrory will actually be very similar in style, much to the dismay of the ideologs in the legislature.

  • fishon Dec 13, 4:07 p.m.

Say goodbye to the Dupont Forest, as well as many other places in our state that will soon be littered with natural gas pumps.

ashwednesday, when our schools become success oriented and no longer have fiscal autonomy we will produce a better finished product. ( i,e ) an educated, responsible individual. You are absolutely right, we should them fundamental skills. Those administrators where appointed by the same politicians that are running this country into, the ground.

  • thewayitis Dec 13, 3:57 p.m.

Hurray for Thomas Stith! I was really hoping he'd been on McCrory's team.

  • ashwednesday36 Dec 13, 3:17 p.m.

What about education? Don't forget that area. We teachers are being baddgered by unknowing, useless, and clueless people (our administrators) who tell us, "You must teach to mastery, your children must master their subjects." Oh sure......and I have almost 30 students in my 7th grade classes who have NEVER passed a reading EOG in their lives. And we are supposed to teach them to mastery? Here is a novel idea, let's teach them to read!!!!!!!

  • rdc42179 Dec 13, 3:14 p.m.

@are you kidding me- leaving a impact is what motivated, people with passion strive for. What kind of impact they leave is what's important. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution. I prefer to not sit on the couch and wait for somebody else to determine my future

  • New Creature Dec 13, 3:13 p.m.

I hope this administration can turn the litter problem around.

  • rdc42179 Dec 13, 3:09 p.m.

Seems that some of you don't place to much belief in the above statements. @ floydthebarber I agree Gov. McCory you will be held accountable. But when was the last time you heard Bev put together anything that even smelled positive. The gov elec is a businessman, he is appointing people who think like business people. That's a lot better than the political insiders that we have had with Perdue and her predecessor .

  • mtnmama Dec 13, 2:58 p.m.

There went the neighborhood...the state AND it's beauty. All to line the pockets of energy corps & dirty (bought & paid for) politicians. The day will come when everyone will look back & wish for the good ol' days when politicians were just plain dirty instead of dirty & turning our state into an irreversible toxic waste dump.

Floyd-it's ok for the DemocRATS to destroy business and citizen's private land with their wacho regulations, but it's not ok to review them AND CHANGE SOME WHEN THEY ARE OVERBURDENING?? Shame on you!!!

  • are you kidding me Dec 13, 2:19 p.m.

leave an impact...what does that mean...the problem is too many people leaving an impact...stop it!!!

  • floydthebarber Dec 13, 2:05 p.m.

These appointees are all talking the talk, but will they tow the national Republicon line anyway? That is the big question. It's great Skvarla has restored so much NC environment but it matters little if he just rubber stamps the environmentally destructive agenda of the current GOP.

We are all watching, and you will be held accountable.

  • Crumps Br0ther Dec 13, 2:03 p.m.

Relax...I don't expect anything to change. The government will continue to be run by corporations...With the illusion that they care about the citizens of course.
    Bill Brasky

yah you should just make everything you need so you dont have to rely on corporations. Unions, which are people too, Barry said so, treat their members as dollar signs, just like corporations, but I suppose thats OK when they do it?

  • Unbroken Dec 13, 12:47 p.m.

Raleigh does need a change and I am hopeful for the future of our state. I honestly do think that the General Assembly has thus far been a disappointment... pulling the same stunts that they rightfully blasted Democrats for... and seemingly putting more focus on what people do in their private lives rather than the unemployment and economic issues facing our state. With that said, Governor McCrory and his Administration deserve at the least a chance and our support.

  • MadMaxx Dec 13, 12:38 p.m.

Over a hundreds years of Democratic wisdom and mismanagement, the future is definitely looking better. Get rid of the corrupt leaders in place now and start fresh, the state workers should be relieved and look forward to 2013

  • Crumps Br0ther Dec 13, 12:37 p.m.

That's great. Say goodbye to the Dupont Forest, as well as many other places in our state that will soon be littered with natural gas pumps. Thanks guys! Does anyone realize that 100 years of energy (which is a mere drop in the bucket) isn't worth the tens of thousands of years of damage you will do to our land.

A a Democrat and a state employee, I am really happy to see McCrory take office. MAYBE he can get state government in a positive light...can't be worse than it is now! Just wish he would have announced ALL secretaries today. Curious to see who will oversee Department of Public Safety in all its glory.

  • NotAgain Dec 13, 11:50 a.m.
