If TWC goes out, it's no big loss. I get tired of watching commercials.

I love reading all the comments about how horrible TWC is. Y'all act like it's the end of the world if you can't watch cable for an hour. I've lived in Raleigh for a year now and this is the only outage I've experienced and they fixed it quickly. Y'all can switch to dish and not be able to watch TV every time it rains! No thanks, I'll keep my TWC.

"TWC is horrible; especially news channel 14. They sent out a technician 8 times in 5 months & every time the tech came out, he blamed the guy before him, and stated I needed a new box, new wire, etc... I will never have TWC ever again."
What does that have to do with News 14?

Thank you Directv, even when the power lines are down due to Ice and Hurricanes I get my TV!!!!!!!!

I missed the hunting shows I record on my VHS so I deserve a credit for the time they were off line. Do you think I can get it?

" I don't pay with check and the amount is automatically debited from my ample account every month...they wanted to see my bank statements proving I had funds."
I got rid of TWC last month. By the way, change your bank accounts. It is unwise to allow ANYONE to automatically remove money from your account.

Too bad. For a brief period that means the carbon footprint of millions of households and other places were TVs are used and the Internet is used reduced their carbon footprint. Longer outages would be much better.

"Its time we get the city out of TWC pockets and let verizon do its thing." - hjeck32544
Let Verizon do what? Are you referring to their FiOS service? If so, there are two problems with that. One - To get FiOS requires Verizon to be the local landline carrier for the area. Raleigh (and a good portion of the rest of NC) is AT&T territory, not Verizon. Verizon no longer has any landline territory anywhere in NC. They sold all their interest in NC to Frontier Communications, and Frontier is trying to drop the fiber service they inherited from Verizon like a hot potato. Two - Verizon announced a while back that they would not be expanding their FiOS service in any of their territories other than what is required by previously agreed to contracts. So, even if you were to be in a Verizon territory it's highly unlikely you'd be getting FiOS if it's not already deployed to your neighborhood.

canceled TWC after they charged me $25 returned check fee....funny, I don't pay with check and the amount is automatically debited from my ample account every month...they wanted to see my bank statements proving I had funds. Talk about a great company. It was a computer glitch on their side, but they still wouldn't take the fee off because their "accounting department needs a letter from your bank stating you had funds on that certain day." Cancelled TWC the moment the customer service mgr told me this. A PATHETIC company. What happened to companies not being a monopoly? Why can't we choose other cable companies? In my area, it's TWC or satellite. And I don't want satellite either. So it's HD antenna for local channels and netflix/hulu for all other things. Saving ourselves $1200 a year!

I despise Time Warner, the most sorriest cable I know.
PanthersFan45 Dec 10, 2012
I said goodbye to TWC back in February and do not miss it at all. AT&T U-Verse is much better in my opinion, and I have not had to call customer service 1 single time. TV service is better, Internet is more reliable and the internet based phone is nice. No truning back for me, even at a higher cost.

In related news, Time Warner announced it will add a $2 surcharge to its customers' bills every month, for fractional ownership of the updated mechanical equipment required to fix the glitch.
