Scott Sauer was a money pit himself...he hired an engineer at 80,000+ a year because he said he wasn't knowledgable in that field, hired a finance director from his old hunting grounds in Sampson County at more money than the last finance director made before retiring, got him a raise when no one else did..could this be why the employees didn't get a raise for several years?

I love seeing the 3-2 vote be turned around this way. Keep watching! The HFT will get trashed next! Can't wait. They have lots more house cleaning to do but this was an excellent start.

I wonder if we could get them to come to a certain city and do what they are doing at the county! And you are right that HFT is one money pit that is bigger than the landfill! Its about time something changed up there for the better!

And Mclovin is right Beatrice needs to go to but I think she will still be in that chair with cob webs on her before the people up around Angier get wise and put someone in her place!

So does this mean the county will stop buying over priced real estate from themselves and maybe consider trying to give employees a pay raise???

How rude! I have no idea who this woman is, but the voters must have thought her to be the person for the job. Funny, how quickly we say ugly things about people when we disagree. Guess what? Unless you die first you too will be 85 one day. Won't be funny when someone pokes fun at your for not being dead, but being older. I'll stop here before I say something ugly.

While the vote this year to extend his contract and give em more to booth was not the brightest thing they have done, and they're still on a roll for doing not too bright things. (remember the landfill mess, still going on). How could any of them continue as they have. They should of just moved him out and made him pick up trash for the rest of his contract. Still waiting on some crimminal charges.

Ever since he was put in there, I've had a "sauer" feeling about it. Yeah, Beatrice its past your time. Move on before your bowels do.

  • ncsu91938 Dec 4, 12:29 p.m.

He was bad news in every county where he has served as county manager.

  • thinkin out loud Dec 4, 11:49 a.m.

This is the best news I have heard in a while. It was clear from the beginning Mr. Sauer was not a good fit and he should have been let go at the end of his probationary period. You're correct riverangela that is time for Ms. Overthe Hill to move on! She still thinks we are in the 1960's

I'm proud of these county commissioners for not putting up with the status quo - Sauer's decisions have been bad from the time he started and his cozy commissioners just followed his lemming-like lead. As for the 85-yr-old commissioner who is as current as dirt to vote against this move...move on.
