North Carolina Cutie, Yes! This is definitely his fault too. He drives everyone a little closer to substance abuse.

  • nimueowl Dec 4, 5:29 p.m.

even if Soc Services takes them, the parents will probably get them back if they are contrite and can get off drugs

the Soc system is geared toward parents' rights, not kids' availability for adoption, rightly or wrongly

  • ufcx3 Dec 4, 1:44 p.m.

this is sad. these parents should have thought about their kids before meth. What if they could have got hurt or killed by touching or swallowing this stuff? Wonder if they get government assistance as well. would not surprise me! time to drug test these people before they can get any kind of help especially with kids. pathetic.

  • North Carolina Cutie Dec 4, 12:35 p.m.

Was this the Presidents fault too?

  • ThePunisher Dec 4, 11:44 a.m.

he'll miss his meth more than his kids

  • djofraleigh Dec 4, 11:09 a.m.

He might lose them while he is in jail and prison...

Maybe that is one of those things parents need to consider before making choices? I remember back when I was little and watching Sesame Street...even at that age, they were trying to teach us to THINK before we did. "If I pop my baby sister's balloon, that would be fun, but what would happen?" and then the Muppet would play through different scenarios before finally deciding NOT to put the needle in the balloon.

    It really isn't rocket science.

These people are putting setting their children up to fail. I'm sure they love their children IN THEIR WAY. The children will be better off with someone else that loves them and will provide them with a HOME, where they don't have to worry about the police arresting their parents. What kind of people have they already been exposed to? WHERE I COME FROM THATS NOT LOVE! I say get them out and give them a chance! Odds are this is not the only illegal things going on in this household. These two are in it together, what kind of mother would take a chance on losing her children. THE KIND THAT DOESN'T NEED THEM!

  • Scubagirl Dec 3, 6:53 p.m.

"I have a feeling that these parents still love their kids even so they chose a bad way to make living and system won't be able to find better parents for their kids. Love! nialet"

I think you may be correct; better maybe they will, who will love more-not so much I fear. Unless there is family fit to take them.

  • Scubagirl Dec 3, 6:51 p.m.

    "didn't want to lose kids"

guess he should have thought of that a bit sooner, eh? Hope the kids end up in a loving environment. Are there not relatives? Thought I heard that.

  • pedsRN Dec 3, 6:50 p.m.

Pathetic, he loved his drugs more than his kids. Just an act. I've seen a woman get clean long enough to regain custody of her son but quickly fell back into her habits, losing him & ultimately her life(suspected drug OD),

  • oleguy Dec 3, 6:39 p.m.

Hes just trying to get people to feel sorry for him,,Lock him up , Give his kids to someone that really wants kids

  • dontstopnow Dec 3, 6:21 p.m.

This is such a sad story. I am really happy the children are out of this home that could have made them very ill. People are so foolish to think they will not get caught when engaging in such an illegal activity and just live to make the profits but in the end, they lost a lot more than money. Their children and their freedom. Wonder if they are thinking of that money now?

  • Just Plain Common Sense Dec 3, 6:16 p.m.

    Dangerous, dumb, criminal and, stupid.

  • Just Plain Common Sense Dec 3, 6:15 p.m.

WOW! they make this stuff from cold medicine, really? How stupid and when do people have time to do this craziness? Now, they will have to face judgment and the only ones suffering will be there children. they should wear a sign OM their forehead that reads simply: STUPID.

  • Barfly Dec 3, 5:54 p.m.

These two don't have a meth problem, they have a legal problem. Drug addicts only have a problem when they're out of money and/or drugs. These two have a problem because they were caught, nothing else.

  • Falcon93 Dec 3, 5:39 p.m.

Not enough of this type of crime is being followed up on when reported? I know of 2 that were turned in and nothing done so far.....glad they got this one!

  • bljnnc2004 Dec 3, 5:34 p.m.

There are some very good treatment programs out there for people who have known drug problems. Well there were before all the budget cuts. Unfortunately drug treatment programs are going the way of the budget ax.

  • nialet Dec 3, 5:33 p.m.

I have a feeling that these parents still love their kids even so they chose a bad way to make living and system won't be able to find better parents for their kids. Love!

  • SaveEnergyMan Dec 3, 5:29 p.m.

These parents have placed their children, themselves, and their community in imminent danger. They have proven they are not capable of making rational decisions in the best interest of their children. They have destroyed their house - wonder who's holding the bag for that - the mortgage holder or a landlord?, and now they have destroyed their family too. As adults we make decisions and these decisions have lifelong consequences. It should take a long time before we can trust them to raise children.

  • Bartmeister Dec 3, 5:22 p.m.

    Reality setting in.

  • mfarmer1 Dec 3, 5:11 p.m.

I guess he should have thought about his family before he started cooking.

    SmokeWagon

You don't know the shoes other people walk in man. I hope you never find yourself broken down in need of help.

Maybe this guy was just doing what he knew would pay the bills. Dangerous and dumb yes, but a lot of people do foolish things when in suvivor mode. I hope the government lets the kids stay with family instead of putting them in foster homes. I hope this couple seeks help for thier addiction and can one day have thier children returned to them.

Truly a sad situtaion for all parties involved.

  • Lindasue Dec 3, 4:47 p.m.

I pray these two get the help they need to kick their habit.

  • workinghuman33 Dec 3, 4:41 p.m.

Yeah, if you didn't want to lose your kids...to the system..violence from users...and explosion then maybe you should have thought of that before subjecting them to the toxic fuels of METH, and an purely toxic environment.

  • exador7 Dec 3, 4:37 p.m.

Poor ignorant people. Ignorant is not a bad thing it can be corrected. Probably a bunch of things that led these young people astray. The ignorance that runs rampant in our society and our government refuses to do anything about. They think people should automatically get all the information they need to be productive trouble free citizens. Like osmosis or something. It's just supposed to happen like magic.

  • SFSOLDIER Dec 3, 4:37 p.m.

Desperate times lead to desperate measures. Sad, really. These people are broken, no jobs, no hope, no future, only drugs and alcohol.

  • SmokeWagon Dec 3, 4:28 p.m.
