It is a shame it doesn't include he is in the middle of a divorce and being falsely accused because she couldn't get her way. A woman can be vindictive and make you believe the moon is made of cheese. Isn't it "innocent until proven guilty", or are you going to hang him now before knowing all the facts?!?!?!

  • BobLoblaw Nov 30, 4:12 p.m.

workinghuman33, right on. I agree completely.

  • charmcclainlovesdogs2 Nov 30, 3:55 p.m.

So glad he was arrested and now in jail. He needs about 60 years in prison for his raping of this child.

When you think of how many law enforcement officers that there is in America and you consider how rare a horrible story like this is I would say that the law enforcement is well represented by folks of exceptional character and morals. I would also bet that the place where you work, if you work, has a far less standard than any law enforcement agency you could name.

How rare is it that an officer dies getting shot in a traffic stop? I bet they prepare for that at every stop though. I dont trust any of them like they dont trust any of us. Nice spin. Epic fail.

And people wonder why everyone is afraid of the police! Some of them are very cruel and don't deserve the position they are in because they abuse it. Glad he is in jail and praying for the poor child that she had to endure such!

Sure wish we were privy to more information in cases such as this, but we are not. I will reserve any judgement against this prior deputy...hopefully the system will decifer this mess and rule judgement.

@dollibug: how good of you to point out that sometimes people lie...we all know that but it's nice when people remind us on articles that are about cops raping little girls.

also, what are all the asterisks supposed to symbolize? you've capitalized other words for emphasis so am unsure why you decided to put an asterisk behind every other word

I agree with you completely. It's far more shocking when it is an LEO due to the expectation of exceptional moral character.... I agree this is a rare occurrence.

It is sad but I hope and pray that there was an investigation which produced enough *evidence* to indict this man....I know that so many times *false accusations* are made....and INNOCENT PEOPLE are convicted of crimes that they are NOT GUILTY of....I had no idea that any GRAND JURY would even hand down *indictments without proof*....until it happened to a family member....this involved an ex who just wanted to make sure that the daddy of a child was not allowed to see his daughter....and the law officals *allowed this to happen*....

  • workinghuman33 Nov 30, 12:37 p.m.

I only hope this awful crime, which essentially murders this young child's trust and childhood, qualifies for life in prison without parole.-BobLoblaw"

It won't, the sentence on pedophiles is so very light compared to the damage they do to a child's trust, and soul. Sandusky got as much as he did because there were so many victims. I would guess depending on the charges that this guy walks out of prison in less than 10...and more like 6. Pedophiles have a huge recidivism rate as well, they generally cannot stop and are repeat offenders. The only way for sentences to be tougher on these animals is to change the laws for stricter sentencing. Personally speaking..we wouldn't have to worry about his sentence if this was my child.

  • fishergirl Nov 30, 11:49 a.m.

I am totally fed up with hearing about these crimes against CHILDREN! As a Mom of 2 and a Granma of 2, I pity the fool if I had to deal with them directly! Our kids DESERVE to feel and BE safe!!! END OF STORY!

  • youpeoplearesoentertaining Nov 30, 11:40 a.m.

It's LEO's such as this one, that make me wonder if I'm telling my 3 year old grandson the right thing when he asks me about "the policeman". He questions if they are our good guys or bad guys and I've always told him they are there to help him if he is ever in trouble and needs help. But seriously...with stories such as this one, should I also be telling him to beware of them and not trust anyone? It's very scary when you don't even know if you can trust leo!

  • BobLoblaw Nov 30, 11:40 a.m.

That is absolutely horrific. Raping a child under the age of 13? I only hope this awful crime, which essentially murders this young child's trust and childhood, qualifies for life in prison without parole.

  • Scubagirl Nov 30, 11:36 a.m.

tsk, tsk but at least they are getting rid of this bad apple. Figure if this happened in August and he was only recently arrested they have some pretty solid evidence.

  • Rebelyell55 Nov 30, 11:20 a.m.

Must of gotten some serious evident since the investigation.
