We all know that the REPUBLICAN NC legislature could care less about poor, handicapped people. This is just a ruse to try to get some of their pet projects in before the end of the year. Just like the fracking debacle. geosol

=====================================

Wow, and they thought they could slip something past you. I guess you have their number! Pretty good, never saw that coming. The ole "Call um back into session to ruse to slide something by" trick huh? Haven't seen that in years. Maybe they could use a Bowski, or a Jim Brown in their cappers? Maybe they could just get the Ocean's 11 cast to pull of the biggest and best heist of all time!!! Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an opportunity to deal with an issue on a non partsian basis. Both sides need to get together and do so, because the possibility of 2,000 North Carolinians being put on the street should be unacceptable to all legislators regardless of party. The Republican controlled General Assembly created the issue and they need to fix it. Although I'm not sure if Speaker Tillis's promise to not bring up anything else can be trusted.

"Just fix it." Sounds simple enough (and it could be) ... BUT, these are politicians, so NOTHING is simple or easy. First, there's the fear of Perdue's that the Republicans may try to pass something or override a veto. There's also the fear that "while they're at it anyway," the Republicans may try to "fix" other issues.

Of course, Perdue COULD just simply use her discretion to ensure the $40M gets paid, with the understanding that wherever the funds are moved from, will get put back ... BUT, she will NOT do so without getting something for it ... remember, these are politicians and Perdue has nothing to lose anyway.

LOOK OUT GOOD PEOPLE!!!! We all know that the REPUBLICAN NC legislature could care less about poor, handicapped people. This is just a ruse to try to get some of their pet projects in before the end of the year. Just like the fracking debacle.

The GOP has already said it was a 'mistake'! If that's true then it should be an easy fix......untweak the darn word

About time someone had the courage to do the right thing. Even if you feel that these people do not have a need, the fact that the legislature made the mistake, by their own admission, means they have to fix it.
