Nope does not hurt them at all. In fact, because low to moderate income earners receive the vast majority of the individual handouts, they should contribute to paying for those handouts. NOW FOOD and UTILITIES and CLOTHING should not have any sales tax. Neither should electricity and phone. Lottery tickets however, should be taxed.
I hate hearing about reform though. No matter who uses the word it translates to the Government seizing more money. I could go for a much higher sales tax IF they eliminated income tax.
