Now's a great time for the (new) Gov's office or Legislature to create a Tattle Tale fund. Some of us know who gets the money, how it's based on who you know, and the nonsense used against those whose proposals are not accepted.

Commerce is really not at fault here. Instead, the previously Democrat controlled General Assembly created most of these non profits over the past 20 years of control over the Governorship and the Legislature, and funded each of them by channelling state funds as a 'pass through" payment via the NC Dept. of Commerce. Word on the street is that the now Republican controlled General Assembly, accompanied by a new Republican Governor McCrory, plans to "redirect" state funds away from some or many of these non profits.

helped spend rural center money in my community; it is loose goose and goes to pay for things that BIG business firms should be spending for, not taxpayers. usually under the cover of "job creation"

The bigger question is, why are they just now arguing about who's supposed to monitor the money? How long have they been around now, and no one knew or asked? Wow. Mississippi's looking good.
