That whole area is surrounded by creeks and the river, and huge slopes. Can't imagine how bad it could have been had the entire road just given way and dropped to who-knows what depth.

Update on construction from someone on site...it may take 2 months for this work to be done. Sinkhole is far deeper and more dangerous than originally reported.

The picture shows a small hole in the pavement, but the actual hole under the road is about 50 feet across

GAH! This morning was a nightmare. I had no idea this problem was there, right on my /new/ commute (with the 95Business closure).

Any word on how long it will take to fix?

Claude Lee Road is EXIT 44.

I know Fort Bragg and Spring Lake on Bragg Blvd. was a nightmare yesterday evening, I have never seen it that bad, took me 2 hours to get from Knox st. to Manchester Rd. No visible accidents or malfunctioning lights, I don't know what was going on.

That's dangerous!

SOOOOO FILL THE HOLE IN!
