Haters gonna hate... How about you conservatives stop being hypocritical and admit that the home has the most influence on a child's intellect... not private vs. public. I am a shining example that a child can get a great education in the public school system with the right support from home. Great work Tiffany, keep it up!!!

This is great! Congrats to Ms. Lachenmayr! We need more Lachenmayrs in this country and fewer Tedescos.

I suggest the School Board consider her as the new Supt. She is far more qualified than the last one.

Congratulatiolns!

"Fantastic! She's probably still underpaid even with the 25k. We need MERIT based pay in NC and a way to fairly and accurately measure a teacher's effectiveness. But we're in Wake County so that ain't nevuh hap'nin'!"

It is called Private schools. They can not afford to keep dead wood teachers. It will never happen in the Public Sector. There is ZERO incentive for the Public Sector K5-K12 to do anything but try to grab up ever more money and continue running a substandard institution. Merit you say, well everywhere I have ever seen that brought up the places that have Teachers unions want no part of it. They want to continue having every union member employed, regardless of the performance. Look at what Chicago just did. Everyone of those teachers should just have been fired.

Anyway congrats to this teacher. In spite of the nasty system in which they work in this State, yes there are many good teachers in the public system.

Congratulations!!!! We need more teachers like this in our community!!

Congratulations on your continuing successes, Ms. Lachenmayr!

congrats for sure, sounds like she earned every bit but didn't expect anything. a giver.

Good for her. Hopefully she will not have to use that cash award to buy school supplies and that she will remain a North Carolina public school teacher.
