Victim blaming... they have every right to be out at that hour. 2 am is not even late in college. Would this be less tragic if it happened at 2pm? I know one of the assaulted women and I know she wouldn't think so. And please do NOT bring Eve Carson into this. Students have to stay up late all the time to finish our work and she is not responsible for her death. Her MURDERERS are. Why don't we place the blame on those who broke the law!?

4:50 a.m., a man hit two females about 2 a.m.

What in the world was these two ladies doing out at this hour of the morning? Ladies certain times of the nights and early morning is not a good idea to be out there and alone. How about think about the late Ms. Eve Carson. She did the same but did not live to tell her story. Can you even learn from her story. Its a dangerous world we now live in. Be cautious and very safe. Look around you when out. Don't be out those hours when you don't have to. Call a cab to get home safely.

Thats taking being a sore loser to new heights of being pathetic. May be why your candidate didn't win. The perpetual hate being spewed in the blogs by the extremes of your party has soured the entire party to many independents. cantstandgoloanymore

Wait, I thought Cornell West, a card carrying socialist called Obama a Rockefeller Republican? how can he be socialist if the socialists don't think he's socialist?

Anyway, I'm glad they used their alert system properly. We had a shooting near campus two weeks ago; and they called, texted and set off emergency lights all over campus. Good to know they can react quickly to things.

I live and work in downtown CH and can tell you that there are a lot of "street people" that hang out and roam E. Franklin near UNC. They typically only cause trouble among themselves.

There are always police or ambulances down there because of fights, assaults, and drunkenness. Rarely are students or others involved or threatened.

It is a sad fact of life in CH...
