Never drive fast on wet roads - It's a shame a life was lost - if only people would take precautionary measurements when driving in weather conditions. I see so many drivers speed by on the wet roads not thinking that it takes one second to hydroplane. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of this man.

bummer, it only takes a second and it's over.

it says a man died, but it doesn't say specifically it was mario... was there a passenger in mario's car?

hoping the family injured get well soon and I'm sorry to hear the driver lost his life in event that could have been avoided if not loosing focus on their driving...My heart goes out to his family...

Man , I was just behind that car today at 98 and averett rd . Not too many early 80 primer mustangs running around . I hate to speculate but they were driving quite slow , looked like there were two folks inside it .

This is a terrible tragedy and I pray for both the family of the deceased driver and also the injured/hospitalized mother and children.

I also will pray that people will stop doing anything that distracts them from keeping eyes on the road!

Although they have not stated the cause of the driver crossing the center line, I will not be surprised if it is later discovered that he was texting and/or speeding.

PLEASE, stay focused on driving and don't speed!

Or, more correctly stated... "Southbound motorists are advised to detour onto N.C. Highway 98 East(Wait Avenue) to U.S highway 401 South before reconnecting. Northbound motorists are advised to detour onto U.S. 401 North(Louisburg Road) to N.C. 98 before reconnecting."

Oh no, that's so sad.
