I would have enjoyed just reading the article and the comments until someone mentioned DUKE/LANCE... sorry, but i have to defend my team as do you, understandably...

I am a big Duke fan, but if u think this has only occured at UNC and State, you are wrong. They are just 2 shcools that got caught. Trust me when I say this occurs at any school that has a decent showing in the NCAA standings (AP poll). I am saddened that so many people want to jump on the "bash UNC wagon". This is old news, UNC has been sanctioned, so let it go. The one's I feel bad for are the students that take "gifts". What does that tell the student(s)? If you are gifted enough, we will take care of you. What happens when that gifted student can no longer use their "gift"? I read about it all the time. Bankruptcy. So who suffers in the end.....the student that took the gifts. Teachers would pass the student based on their talent on the court or field, colleges would pass them for the same reason(s). I would MUCH rather see student-athletes paid a salary (but would have to stay in college for 4 years). GO DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
