As long as the GOP marginalizes Blacks, Latino's, Gays and Women, they are going to be on the losing end of Presidential races.

"You're 100% correct. If a White person said the racist things that Al Sharpton and the "New" Black Panthers say every day, that White guy would get kicked out of the country."

Yes, because they can do that. Newt Gingrich says something racist every other week, and he still is a guest on every sickening GOP-supporting show. Talk about only seeing what you want to see.

  • iron fist Nov 6, 4:10 p.m.

I will be glad when this day is over, the phones calls will stop, the mail carrier will stop filling my box with ads. I voted two weeks ago. No need to call me I knew who I was voting for.

  • alwaysconcernedmom Nov 6, 3:53 p.m.

    Very racist organization.

I am happy to report no one said a word to me when I went and voted for a new tomorrow!

  • Common_Sensey Nov 6, 3:16 p.m.

"so, WRAL is sure to report on this, but nothing about the problems up in Philly"

No, nobody around here will ever hear of the voter intimidation problems against Republicans up in Philly unless they stop watching Liberal-biased news sources like CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, etc.

  • Common_Sensey Nov 6, 3:07 p.m.

"The NAACP is as racist as they get....I wish someone would try and intimidate me into voting for whoever I wanted"

  • Common_Sensey Nov 6, 3:05 p.m.

The NAACP is worried about voter intimidation at polling sites? Check out the news out of Philadelphia this morning. GOP poll workers were kicked out by Democratic poll workers, the Black Panthers radical group is on site, and at one poll station there is a huge painting of Obama on the wall.

Talk about voter intimidation! Of course, you won't hear about it on CNN or MSNBC (Liberal news). Check out Foxnews or Drudgereport website right now and read about it. What a shame!

  • friendlyman Nov 6, 2:09 p.m.

  • JustOneGodLessThanU Nov 6, 10:47 a.m.

It's easier for many folks here to attack the messenger than to address the actual issue... voter intimidation, nooses around the necks of African Americans, etc.

This is called an "Ad Hominem" attack, is a Logical Fallacy and is often used by people who have no argument. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem

  • samr Nov 6, 10:13 a.m.

Just voted and the electioneers at my precinct were cordial to voters and to each other. Also was pleased to see that everyone seemed to be looking at each race and not voting the straight party line (based solely on the time people spent at the voting booth)

  • kikinc Nov 6, 9:28 a.m.

storchheim-I wasn't offended. Sorry if it seemed like I was! Definitely wasn't my intention.

  • Paladin2 Nov 6, 8:41 a.m.

He is merely trying to stir up the democratic and/or liberal lemmings so they will be sure to vote the party line. A true legend in his own mind.

  • bettyboopr2 Nov 5, 7:42 p.m.

The NAACP is as racist as they get....I wish someone would try and intimidate me into voting for whoever. My mind has been made up for a long time. All I can say is bring it on. The NAACP was doing a little of intimidation in Texas but they don't say alot about that.

Barber seems to really love the spotlight. His candidate seems to be loosing in our state, so he is making up an excuse.

  • Frogm3n Nov 5, 7:33 p.m.

No need to worry NAACP...OBAMA will win again..........

  • 101jackson101 Nov 5, 7:31 p.m.

If anyone is wanting to start a racial war it's this Barber, he has been trying for 2 years to keep things stirred up and may get what he wants and then be sorry wants he gets it.

  • ims1924 Nov 5, 7:30 p.m.

I believe very little of what William Barber says. He stays in the news to keep the money rolling in so that he can keep his job. A friend, who at one time was close to William Barber, says that he usually works 20 to 25 hours during a 40 hour week.

  • Frogm3n Nov 5, 7:30 p.m.

The NAACP needs to stop crying and let go of the past and just move forward.....and consider getting a new leader for their group the present one looks like he is ready to go...

  • piene2 Nov 5, 7:23 p.m.

""I am most happy that the NAACP is close at hand to keep a watchful eye on things!" ----piene2

A clear bright light in a dark sea if bigotry. We need NAACP, at least down here in the south.

  • changedmyname Nov 5, 7:08 p.m.

"Just another publicity stunt - plus 'intimidation' charge = 'motivation' for his target audience." pause to consider

True. And it's a ready-made excuse for any violence and destruction that so often occurs when certain cultures don't get their way.

You're right. Never heard a dem say a rude thing. Ever. Sarcasm font please....

  • josephlawrence43 Nov 5, 7:00 p.m.

One more time, the NAACP is straining to show that it is still relevant in todays society. Just like their going to the UN to plead for international poll watchers, like they are going to do anything, the NAACP is turning over every rock it can move to search for "racism"--and generally finding none. In that situation, it manufactures what they classify as racism.

  • miseem Nov 5, 6:49 p.m.

The NAACP were the ones doing the intemidating in Fla. Ohio and Texas! They are so Hypercritical.dshingleton.
So what you're saying is that because of some allegations of mailings in Florida, Texas and Ohio, anything that happens in Goldsboro is OK? I suspect that there are just as many examples of intimidating mailings directed at Democrats in those states, not to mention governmental actions that are targeted at limiting the number of minority voters in some states, like cancelling the last Sunday of early voting in Florida, the same day that a lot of black churches promoted early voting. Of course, maybe I'm just being "hypercritical".

  • a420a240 Nov 5, 6:36 p.m.

Why is this all over the news and the NAACP taking over a polling location in Texas is being copletely ignored? Why are they the only ones allowed to encroach on our rights?

  • eglidewarrior Nov 5, 6:34 p.m.

If anybody thinks this presidential election isn't about the color of a man's skin, just wait for the next presedential election. I will bet you any amount of money that when a black man's name isn't on the ballot, you will see a dramatic decrease in voter turnout from blacks. That's not racist, that FACT!!

  • miseem Nov 5, 6:31 p.m.

I voted early and was rudely talked to when I did not want to accept the voter guide from a Republican volunteer. After I said I already had my list, she told me "Don't make a mistake." • 4Strikes Nov 5, 6:31 p.m.

"The good thing is more people are voting. This country is becoming more and more diverse whether some like or not. We must face that fact. Racism does still exist both intentional and unintentional."

Until blacks stop following racist organizations, like the NAACP, it will never end.

  • jblake1932 Nov 5, 6:25 p.m.

I didn't forget. I pray for the day whites decide appeasement doesn't work.

  • Sherlock Nov 5, 6:10 p.m.

Yes, I'm alway intimided by all those individuals standing around the enterence to the polls, these individuals should BE FORCED to stay at least 20 blocks away from an election place. No signs, no flyers and no indivduals unless they are there to vote.

  • yellow_hat Nov 5, 6:08 p.m.

I voted early and was rudely talked to when I did not want to accept the voter guide from a Democrat volunteer. After I politely declined her offer of the voting guide, she told me "Don't make a mistake." Then sarcastically said, "Well, have nice day." The look in her eyes was one of hate.

And this one time at band camp.......

  • com_mon_sents Nov 5, 6:08 p.m.

I can't help, but laugh at people that want to paint with a "racist brush" that if you are not voting for Obama you just don't want a black man in charge. What do you call me...one who voted for Obama in 2008 but I'm not going to vote for him tomorrow...
I'm voting for the one that has the ability to do the job.

  • yellow_hat Nov 5, 6:06 p.m.

  • Tax Man Nov 5, 6:06 p.m.

Just keep those new black panthers out of Cary when I vote tomorrow! Plus, we do have free speech here in the USA even on election day.

  • Rebelyell55 Nov 5, 6:05 p.m.

What's the matter, they don't have enough room for the panthers?

  • com_mon_sents Nov 5, 6:05 p.m.

From my experience with friends and social media, the people that seem "angry" and speak in an "intimidating" way are the Democrats.

  • FAN72 Nov 5, 6:03 p.m.

Where were they in 2008 when the Black Panthers intimidated voters in Pennsylvania?

  • Commen Nov 5, 6:01 p.m.

I don't understand. Are the Black Panthers Planing on showing up for the election?

  • dshingleton Nov 5, 5:58 p.m.

CAN THE NAACP NOT READ? THAT THING WITH THE THE PEOPLE PAINTED ON HIS TRAILOR WITH NUSES WAS NOT RACIALLY MOTIVATED.....IT WAS THE ACTS OF A MENTALLY ILL MAN WHO HAD BEEN WRONGED BY THE SYSTEM/THE COURTS..IT HAD PERDUE,OBAMA AND MANY FROM THE COURT SYSTEM WHO THAT MAN FEELS HAVE WRONGED HIM..IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE VOTE AND NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE INTEMIDATION.....THE GOLDSBORO NEWS AGRUS PRINTED WHO IT WAS AND WHY THE MAN WAS DOING IT...STILL BARBER AND THE NAACP STILL ARE TRYING TO START SOME JUNK ....WISE UP PEOPLE IF THEY DON'T KEEP CONFLICT STIRRED THEY DON'T GET PAID...AND THEY DON'T DO THIS FOR FREE!!
