How easy it is to forget 3.5 million job losses during the last year of Bush Cheney.

I can't believe so many want a return to voo-doo ecomonics, wars paid on credit cards, and rewards only for the very few.

I don't normally comment on political things, but this one made me LOL. "much better shape"?? Really?! I have yet to meet one person that considers themselves "better off". Especially people in my age group of mid 20's.

I graduated high school in '05, went to NC State for a couple years, and by the time I got married 12/31/07, I was working one full time job and a part time job making $8.50/hr and $9/hr respectively. My hubby got stationed at Bragg in Aug 08, so I had to leave those jobs. Struggled finding work so I opted to finish my degree. 2 1/2 years after graduating, I am still working part-time, and just got my 1-year raise to a whopping $7.75/hr. Please tell me how we're better off; because it's not for a lack of trying on my part.

Hey yall who still have to vote: please support Waketech bond and vote YES. There is no tax increase, there is no money coming out of state budget, there is no oppositon from either party or organized movement against.
The Wake Technical College is surely in need of money for campus improvement, police force improvement and anything else.
So, show your support and say "YES".
    Thank you.

Obviously all the figures are not in yet but so far, just roughly speaking we have brought some seventeen hundred people to the polls in Cumberland and Hoke counties. A am pleased to see that Cumberland County has extended voting tomorrow by two hours. We are hoping for five or six more vans next Tuesday.

Barack Obama has done more than any other President before him. Here's a partial list of his impressive accomplishments:

First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student - then deny he was a foreigner.

First President to appear on Pimpp With a Limpp.

First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in.

First President to spend more money than all of the previous Presidents - COMBINED.

First President to pronounce the Marine Corps as the Marine Corpse.

First President to preside over a downgrade to the credit-rating of the United States.

First President to endorse same sex marriages.

First President to violate the War Powers Act.

First President to bow to the King of Saudi Arabia.

First President to sell marijuana and cocaine.

First President to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

This election is about 44 consecutive months of record unemployment, doubled gas prices, illegal alien amnesty, doubled national debt, fast and furious, Solyndra et.al., Benghazigate, transparency and getting a handup instead of a handout.
Obama said if he didn't reduce the debt and unemployment by half within 3 years his presidency would be a one term propostion. Well, he reneged on that.
We can't withstand four more years of FAILURE...

A wise made this statement several years ago and it sums up our

  • North Carolina Home Nov 2, 11:32 a.m.

Voter turnout was 69.93% in the 2008 presidential election.

Assuming that North Carolina reaches the same percentage in 2012, there are still about 2.6 million voters that have not yet voted.

    GOTV volunteers are still needed.

  • lrakydarb2 Nov 2, 11:24 a.m.

Nuff N Nuff: Your comment makes no sense.

"Doesn't matter what this state does, the next President will be elected by the select few living in Ohio.

How does it feel to have your vote surppressed?"

First, all states are important in the electorial college. What if CA or NY were toss up states? Then Ohio wouldn't be considered "crucial".

As far as the "suppressed" comment, it appears you do NOT realize there is NO Constitutional right for the citizens to vote for President. That is why there is an electoral college. If the state of NC (or any state) decided to NOT have the citizens vote in the Presidential election, they could do that.

"The electoral college is a joke, and way past its due. We needs to have the states each count all their votes, and with that tally, decalre who won. Each state gets 1 vote. No tie because DC gets a vote also. It is the fairest way"

How would that make sense....Alaska, for instance, has less people living it it than the Triangle!

If it was to be changed, a simple majority vote is the obvious way to do it.

  • mep Nov 2, 11:12 a.m.

Realclear has Romney up 3.8 pts in NC.
If Romney does pull NC... at least we wont have to hold our heads down in shame for the next 4 years of an Obama administration... and I wont have to remove my "Worst President Ever" bumpersticker. LOL. And hey... votes count, and its a VERY tight race.... unlike "Union"... dont just have an opinion on politics, vote.
