Liberals favor spending/debt and chaos. Look who is in the majority.

"westernwake1 You mind explaining the party difference for people who serve on the board? What is he democratic position on public education? What is the republican position on education? Inquiring mind wants to know. How far back and how many Supt's do you need to illustrate your point?"
Everything anyone wants to know about the Wake Democratic position on public education can be found in this email from GSIW:
It is all about Diversity with Democrats in Wake and not about educating students. The only thing they care about is "deliberate assignments for kids from lower performing areas to high performing schools."
The Republicans care about educating every student in the system in a cost effective manner. I am not going to state that every Republican policy is great, but at this point they have a better grasp than the Wake Democrats.
GALNC Sep 28, 8:29 a.m.
It is time for Wake to get a board where the members are not looking to make a name for themselves down the road in political office...Goldman and Tedesco. Tata shouldn't be fired..the board should have been fired.
Screw WrAl Sep 27, 7:46 p.m.
Good for you Judy. I would run as far away as I could too, if I were stuck working for a bunch of liberal clowns that have nothing to offer this county's children. They have failed at every level.

"Just exactly what the last board did. They just pulled people off the street. No qualifications and no education." - superman
You mean exactly like what Del Burns did when he hired all of his friends who had no college degrees and no qualifications into administrative positions at high salaries. The only common thread these people had is that they were all donators and supporters of the Democratic party. Of course many of them went on to commit fraud against the school system, a few are still serving sentences for their crimes.
superman Sep 27, 6:33 p.m.
Just exactly what the last board did. They just pulled people off the street. No qualifications and no education. It shouldnt take long to pull more people off the street. The last board is reponsible for this mess and they are trying to pass it off to the new board. Goldman and Tedesco had little or no education and they made this mess and now they are seeking state positions for which they are not qualified to hold. When I was working I had to get along with the boss. Dont think it was his resposnbility to get along with me. Tata worked for the board so it was up to him to do whatever he could to make them happy. Instead he wanted to control the board and everyone else. X military people do not do well in civilian jobs. It is a whole different battlefield.
superman Sep 27, 6:26 p.m.
Enough said. She was his friend. Friends usually hire friends.
Nancy Sep 27, 6:24 p.m.
Well, the board members should be pleased, they've gotten a chance to put in place THEIR chosen ones (those steeping in the old education platforms)
People who have spent their life in education are not given to change easily and we find them beholden to the old ways.
Just watch for it.

@I HATE THE DRIVE BY MEDIA
Just google her name and the "Broad Foundation". She came from the same place Tata did, and it clearly says all the same things Beverly did.
You should also find out where the name "Broad" in Broad Foundation comes from, might open your eyes.
lunarmodule Sep 27, 6:16 p.m.
Beverly is correct. Ms. Peppler was a finalist for a superintendent position in Reno earlier this summer. She was not chosen.
She is a 2011 Broad graduate who had no prior education experience prior to being named chief transformation officer for the Wake County Schools. She worked for Qwest Communications before.
The loss of Ms. Peppler is nothing compared to the loss of experienced, specialized, senior personnel that have served Wake County for years. We have lost a lot of knowledge and institutional memory during Mr. Tata's tenure.
meep Sep 27, 6:04 p.m.
Beverley, where are your sources for this information? I am curious if what you state is a) facts WRAL should have reported, or b) gossip.
meep Sep 27, 6:00 p.m.
Hmmm. 1 week notice. I thought 2 weeks was custom courtesy.
Before you state the woman did not follow "custom courtesy", please show me in the article where she gave a one week notice. It is not there? There could be a number of reasons her last day is before the two week time period as part of an agreement between the employer and employee.
And before you go there in further attempt to discredit the woman, we all know what assumption is the mother of...
beverley Sep 27, 5:54 p.m.
It would be appropriate for WRAL to detail Ms. Peppler's credentials, or lack thereof for leadership in a school system. She was a community relations/marketing VP for a phone company. Did that really qualify her for this job and at this pay level? She was the second highest paid employee. Another interesting point is that she has been here just at a year, and yet 3-4 months ago, she was already applying for other jobs---Reno Nevada. Tata's choice plan had so many leaks in it and it was her job to implement. I have talked with many quality academic leaders who say that Tata was simply not interested in looking at any challenges from any perspective other than his own.
dougroberts Sep 27, 5:23 p.m.
Well Tony did too good of a job for Wake co . All Democrats know is to reward failure. We have an incumbent President of the United States that has turned in the worst performance in our country's history . He won't sit down on having done a bad job as you would expect a patriot to do , we'll all have to go through the trouble to vote him out. Children however will lose this valuable time. Taxpayers will lose valuable money. This country's enemies live among us all these days.

"I appreciate Superintendent Tata’s strong leadership ..."
hmmm Kevin, this kind of goes against what you hinted at in your news conference about the superintendent's leadership team not getting along with him. Just makes me wonder.
carydoggymom Sep 27, 5:10 p.m.
Very gracious statement on her part. I'm sure she was asked to leave by the same majority of the school board who ousted Tata.

The wrong people are resigning.....
storchheim Sep 27, 4:57 p.m.
Hey Judy. Did the BOE flinch when you slapped them?
RockGuitar Sep 27, 4:55 p.m.
who needs a superintendent anyway? let the school board manage the affairs of the district.
dollibug Sep 27, 4:48 p.m.
Sounds like Wake County is having a lot of issues with a lot of things....change can be good though....when it is done for the right reason....
gingerlynn Sep 27, 4:41 p.m.
Lets see, transportation and facilities (ie Bonds) guy gone, assignment specialist (with another reassignment coming up) gone, and head guy in charge gone.
Who is running the hen house? Do you think you can just pull these people off the street in these kinds of critical positions?
