somehow I don't think the stepson is a KID, regardless of anything else.

I actually don't see where people are blaming the child. Even if it is the child being every bad name in the book, it doesn't matter. You don't shoot him! Hello! We save our guns for those entering our homes intending to harm us or rob us. Its these people who give law abiding gun owners a bad name. Not to mention step-parents. Thankfully, I am not.

This type of behavior seems to be the only way that certain people know how to settle an argument.

This happened in our neighborhood and We have kids in our neighborhood who are usually out playing (mine included). This could have been much worse. I agree with Babs This guy has problems if he would open fire into a neighbors house not knowing who he would kill. Also our local Roanoke Rapids news is reporting that it WAS the stepson who was shot (his house is right beside the stepdad's)

Authorities said that Robert Louis Carey, 68, argued with his stepson at their Haven Drive Home and threatened him with garden tools. OK NOW the son leaves the house to get away from this guy and he gets a gun and follows him not one word was said abou the kid saying or doing anything other than leaving the house. But readers blame the kid on the spot.

Really, I can't beleive everyone auto assumes the stepson is at fault here. This guy has problems if he would open fire into a neighbors house not knowing who he would kill. Not one word was mentioned about the stepson except this guy argued with him and then shot a gun into a neighbors house.
