"Im so sad to see him leaving! He has done a great job!! Good luck Mr Bergamine! SouthernGirlJD"

You mean like ticketgate and the instance of the EMT ambulance wreck controversy? If you don't remember them I can find the stories for you.

Im so sad to see him leaving! He has done a great job!! Good luck Mr Bergamine!

"He was a finalist to be police chief in Kansas City, Mo., in October, but he wasn't selected."

Maybe because we sent story after story about his misconduct to the selection committee in Kansas City? Bergamine isn't working for the city of Fayetteville, he's working for Dale Iman who definitely is in it for himself and his goombahs.

Anytime LEO can make it to retirement - CONGRATULATIONS!!! But, I have another question. Why does an officer retiring 6 months down the road make the news and Durham swearing in a new Sheriff does not? Hmmmmm.

"Bergamine didn't disclose why he decided to step down in six months, other than to note that he had discussed the situation with his wife." wral

Is he supposed to have a reason? He's worked 33+ years in law enforcement in Fayetteville. That, in itself, is a miracle. Good luck to him and I hope he enjoys not having to deal with the headaches associated with dealing with what he has dealt with over the years.
