Thank you WRAL for changing the headline. I personally like Southpoint a lot and have done the majority of my Christmas shopping there. Many cool shops and great bargains at Southpoint as well as other Durham shops.

I'm sure the merchants at Southpoint will love the "Skip Southpoint...." in your heading. You did a very nice job in pointing out what Bull City's boutiques have to offer. But wouldn't it have been better to just say "Shop Bull City's boutiques". I suspect Southpoint has much to offer that cannot be found at Bull City's boutiques, or similar items at a lower cost.

Ninth St. has fabulous shops including a marvelous independent bookstore called the Regulator. When you shop locally, the money stays in this community. Ninth St. is an incredibly safe area. Highly recommended!

9th Street is not a bad area. A great little street with wonderful restaurants, pet supply store and cute shops.

":9th street is a bad area" What's the matter? Too blue for you? A bit safer than Franklin St actually...

Why is 9th Street a "bad idea" exactly?

boutiques are high on their prices and not very many options for everyone on your list...southpoint has lots more options. also....9th street is a bad area.

I've never been to either place... thanks for the suggestions, Bridget. I'll have to stop by both soon!
