I want to know why I'm having to pick up the tab for these multitudes of kids with no or incompetent parents. If you need help to "succeed" at kindergarten, someone is doing something horribly wrong.

I'd also like to see some valid citations for the assertion that these expensive programs have any sort of real long-lasting positive effect.

The only risk the 4 year olds have to worry about is people like this govenor spending their money and their grandchildren's money. These people just do not get the fact we are broke and need to cut spending not increase it.

4-year olds ought to be at home, playing, not confined to a classroom. Is this an attempt to further socially engineer the next generation? Or to accommodate the frightfully high number of unwed mothers who don't have a husband ponying up to be responsible for the child he's created? Recent reports - more than 50% of births to women under 30 are out of wedlock.

And the real irony of this is that birth control is available EVERYWHERE...

"$9.3 million she has identified" Was there an accounting error? or did this come out of the highway fund?

Great!!! more taxpayer funded day care!!

November cannot get here soon enough.

They will go after 3 yr olds next....Why don't they concentrate on using the money they have doing a good job with 1st - 12th grades? Government is always expanding!

Agreed, I have 3 kids and did all of that at home instead of sponging off the taxpayer. Its time for the loosers out there to start doing their part.

Seriously, this is just wrong. Bev can't get out of office soon enough. I agree w/lauraleigh. 4 yr olds should be at home, not in a classroom.

Buying votes for her party with taxpayer funded daycare. Nothing more.
