Tornadoes I95 & Sent Out of BP into Tornado

On Saturday my husband and I were driving to see his mother who was sick with pneumonia in the hospital at Sumter, SC. My husband was anxious to see exactly how she was doing as she is 78 and had just had her knee replaced for the second time. We listened to WRAL the entire way from Cary past Lumberton. We stopped at the BP on the corner of hwy 95 and hwy 301 just north of Lumberton because the weather was so bad. The owner wouldn't allow people to take shelter and said we had to wait in our cars due to "insurance reasons" as it was hailing golf ball sized hail and the rain was coming down in circles and sheets. After the weather improved, we returned to hwy 95 to find we had just missed several twisters and we ended up stuck for about 1.5 hours on hwy 95 while the road was cleared of fallen trees. Everyone parked and came out of their cars to help move the trees. One lady had seen two twisters go by in front of her. A truck driver had stopped his truck, jumped under it, barely escaping the twisters and a tree that completely demolished the cab of his truck. Children played ball, people walked their dogs and everyone talked and did what they could to help out as we all waited for the trees to be cleared. Both sides of 95 were closed, with the guardrails demolished at places, trees turned up by their roots, and the smell of fresh pine in the air. (We have other pics and video.)
