Frugal I have had a similar experience at the CVS on Six Forks and Lynn Rd. Wonder if it was the same cashier just working at different locations? This lady tells me everytime that I don't need to look in the paper because she stuffs them herself but she can never tell me how many inserts there are. She also says in an accusing way that people take inserts and she is watching closely. I hope you get somewhere with your complaint. I put a message on CVS on line and never heard back.

Thanks Observant and Faye for your help with the swirl bread coupon. I wasn't able to get it, so I guess I should take it as a sign that I should take the leap and attempt to make some cinnamon raisin bread. :)

Frugal20 - What a frustrating experience you had at the CVS. I suggest calling the CVS corporate number on Monday morning and ask for the District Managers name and phone number for that store. Give them your name and number and ask that they have the District Manager call you on Monday to discuss a serious customer service incident with the store manager.

jdouglas13 - I found the bread coupon on using my zip, I believe. If you can;t find it, it may be out of prints.

observant - thanks for the DOmino's info!

Frugal20 What an awful experience !?? You are owed a apology and more !
GOOD LUCK with speaking to the manager

JDOUGLAS13 - i loaded the swirl bread coupon to my Kroger card and Food Lion card - so it may be at coupons .com but I have not printed coupons in a couple of days
( many of the digital coupons at the various stores are also printable at )

Frugal20 - If you plan to speak to the store owner, do it soon. Most stores only keep video for a few days - a week at most. Why did she not apologize in front of anyone and everyone if your papers were fine and the other papers were fine. You should have demanded an apology on the spot after that display.

Frugal20 - have a friend call that CVS and ask for the manager on duty's name or you can get someone else to go in the store and look for the manager on duty sign. That will at least get their name. The corp website should give you the corp phone number. Good luck and keep us posted.

CVS in Durham, at Garrett and 54.

She ridiculed me in front of several customers, other employees, anyone and everyone. It was ridiculous and like nothing I'd ever experienced. She even took the papers and inserts out of my buggy, took them to the register, and counted everything. She even looked thru the other papers still on the rack.

If I ever do speak with the store owner, I intend to arrange a face to face meeting with him to view the security footage together.

That woman's behavior needs to be addressed.

On another note, I have spent the last 30 minutes hunting for a Pepperidge Farm Swirl Bread coupon that I know I saw somewhere yesterday. When I tried to print it, my printer was giving me trouble, so I thought I'd try again today from DW's computer.

If anyone comes across it, would you please let me know which coupon site and what zip code, if applicable.

    Thanks! :)

Frugal20, wow! That's awful. I always check newspapers to make sure all the inserts are there too. What CVS was this?

Here is a link for CVS' corporate page:

Like I do every Sunday, got newspapers from CVS this morning. Also, like I do every Sunday, I flipped thru to make sure all 4 inserts were present. I put the papers in the buggy and the manager comes charging at me from the store office. She accuses me of stealing coupons from all the papers...says I have you on video and I WILL press charges. I had barely gotten 10 feet in the store and hadn't even gone to the red machine yet. The manager and I had it out, I told her she was crazy and she was welcome to review her precious video...I had done nothing wrong.

I told her I wanted her boss' phone number, as well as corporate. She would only give me her first name (like she's Cher or Madonna). She only gave me the store phone #, so I'll likely never be able to speak to the store owner.

    I am beyond furious.
