Nanee Lion, I'm so sorry I just saw your post! The cheesecake I make is actually in a pie plate. It bakes for about 20 minutes or so, then has a sour cream/sugar/vanilla topping added, and baked another 10. If there are any cracks, the sour cream topping usually hides it.

I know that cheesecakes made in a springform pan often crack. What I would do in that situation is have a can of cherry pie filling on hand and top it with that once it's out of the oven, or even strawberries or blueberries. I'd probably cook the blueberries down about so it is more of a thick sauce.

    Hope that helps!

I use a water bath in the oven with my cheesecake and leave it in the oven after baking so it can cool very very slowly.

NANEE LION re cracking cheese cakes. I'm not a cook, but I know one :-) She said you are probably cooking it too long or at too high of a temperature. Use an oven thermometer to check the oven temp to make sure it matches your knobs.

JDouglas - need some advice regarding cheese cakes. I baked my grandson one for his birthday dinner tomorrow and it has a spit in two places and a sleepy place on the side. It looks horrible and I really don't have enough time to bake another one. Please tell me your secret when cheese cakes. Mine taste good normally but they look terrible, especially this one. I am going to be embarrassed to serve it tomorrow. HELP!

JDouglas I do buy sub's at HT every time they are on special for 4.99. I don't know how many points you get per sub but was really surprised that I had 34 points.

Readingtou, how did you get the sub credits? Do you buy subs at HT?

Dollar General has a $5/$25 coupon on their website good for today (Saturday) only. They are also running a 3 day sale.

I found out something new at HT yesterday that I thought I'd share. I noticed on my receipt that I had 34 sub credits. It takes 15 for a free sub. I asked how to get a free sub and was told to tell them at the deli and they put the free sub in a purple wrapper. I did that today and it worked. Free sub for us. We love the Boars Head meat.
