Thanks Vlynn and Nanee Lion. I've been looking since Saturday, so I don't hold out much hope. I ended up going to a very well rated locksmith in Apex who was able to program a new key for me for about $60 total. Much better than what the dealership wanted. I'm going to hold off on the fob/remote for now since that's another $130. As long as the key unlocks the doors and starts the car, I'm good to go.

Hoping you can find your keys. A friend of mine recently lost his and found them days later in a lake where he had been fishing. He used a mental detector. Hope you have one that will help you. I lost mine one time and finally found them way under my car seat. Don't know how they got that far back. keep looking and good luck!

JDOUGLAS13 re lost keys: sorry to hear this! It's so aggravating. I know that you've probably traced your steps like crazy trying to find the keys. Are you sure there's no hope in finding them? My neighbor lost her keys (fob & remote) a few weeks ago. We traced her steps all over town trying to find them. Couldn't find them. She gave up and the next day, we found them by chance in her yard! They were in the grass next to her driveway. We had looked everywhere, but there! Just wanted to give you hope to step back and look in some obvious places, so you might end up avoiding trying to get the keys made. If that doesn't work, try a auto repair shop, not the dealership to see if you can get a price break. I ended up losing a volkswagen key and had to get them remade. It was cheaper at a local auto repair shop (johnson's) than the dealership, but these new fangled keys are just outrageous.

So I'm hoping y'all can offer me some suggestions...

Somehow I lost my keys. You know the ones with the remote fob and programmed keys. The kind that the car dealer wants ALMOST $350 TO REPLACE!! I won't repeat what went through my head when they gave me that price.

I found a locksmith who can do the key only, including programming, for $70. That still sounds like a lot of money. Do I just need to deal with it or is there a better solution? And what about replacing the remote fob? The locksmith wants another $130 for that...

Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated!
