Raesmom - Remember Delta is going to charge you $25 per person for your first checked bag. If you can get the bag through security, you can gate check it for no charge. I believe the second checked bag per person is $35. Now, Southwest will not charge you for the first two checked bags per person. For $60 (2 checked bags) it might be cheaper to ship it slowly - especially if it is bulky items that are not going to weigh to much.

I did pretty well on my SB today: 136. I hope that means they don't raise tomorrow's goal to 10 zillion or something.

I had to call the N&O 3 weeks ago and haggle down my subscription. I had gotten a great offer for 7 days, a coupon book and a $5 gift card back in May for like $12 month however I only wanted Sunday delivery (the rest of the week papers just piled up and once I signed up we stopped getting the $10/50 coupons- just my luck!) well the guy started @ $23/month- I was like no thank you- he then dropped it to $8 and change I was like no- I can still get them cheaper at Walgreens and after like an eternity on the phone he came back and offered $6.41 for Sunday only ($0.02 less than Walgreens) I jumped on that- too bad it can only be for one paper- I wanted to make it 2 but they said no. I still run to Walgreens to get my second paper however I will be rethinking it over the winter....

I just found at Lowes food on close out the Damprid hanging moisture absorber bags from $6.99 down to $2.99 and I had a $1.00 of coupon for a while which makes them $1.99- to me this is great deal because I am a smells-A-phobic- LOL!

Thanks Mothar1 and everyone who commented on the blog or sent me an email on how best to handle the purchasing of my tickets. I have decided to go with Delta to get to Buffalo at they only want $243.20 and possibly southwest to get back to Raleigh as they want the same $243 for a one way making the total trip $488 which is WAY better than the $682 I previously found. Thanks again for all the help :)
