Raesmom - here's a good article from last year with lots of helpful tips on getting the best airfares at Thanksgiving. As everyone else said in their responses to you - there are no great airfares at Thanksgiving, but there are some things you can do to make it a little less painful.

Can somebody please tell me what time the Aldi store in Wake Forest opens on Sundays?

Raesmom - I'm with Jdouglas. Flying on Thanksgiving day is cheaper. Also, flights on Tuesday or Wednesday are normally cheaper, if you can wait that long. Have you looked at Southwest Airlines? You might be able to get a decent fare on them. Most of the flights I book are always around $300 to $400. It is rare to see them lower than that. One of the tricks that I use is Travelocity.com. They will show you the rates of multiple airlines for the same days. It is a good starting point but always book with the airline and not through Travelocity. Email me if you want me to take a look for you. a.scherer@earthlink.net. As for airports, I would go out of RDU. You don't want to add a road trip before and after days you are flying.

Raesmom, sadly, the day or two before TG is notoriously the most expensive and busiest time to fly. The Sunday following the holiday is also pretty horrific. Flying on the actual holiday is cheaper, but you still have to return at some point. If you can hold off to fly back on the Monday or, better yet, Tuesday after, you will get a better deal.

Let me do a little looking around and see what I can come up with.

I have a question. I am looking up ticket prices to fly home for Thanksgiving. It is always cheaper to rent a car and drive, but with DH not being able to join us Rae and I have no choice but to fly. I am noticing that if we fly on Thanksgiving Day it is cheaper (almost $100 cheaper) then if we fly the day before which is what I want to do. We are looking at a little over $600 roundtrip for both of us.....OUCH (and that's just for one week). Any suggestions on who to fly with, what day to fly, what airport to fly out of etc? Y'all always come through so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone will be able to help :)

Thanks, THOMASG and TIMEANDCHANCE9311, for your SavingStar posts. It's encouraging to hear they stated on FB that they are behind on crediting. My HT receipt was from 8/18 (during SDs) which is now 23 days ago. Maybe it will credit before they get around to replying to my inquiry. I did not phone them, but used the Contact Us link on their website.

Dr. D. I have also had issues with getting credit as of lately. I still haven't been credited with stuff from the last Super Doubles. I emailed them twice and still have not hear anything. Did you call them? There facebook page was showing that they were behind with crediting but that was like two weeks ago.

Dr.D Sorry I have had no problems here with Saving Star but I scan and submit all my receipts . The "Healthy Offer of the Week" can sometimes take up to 10 days but others credit within a few hours
