ThomasG - not offended at all. Actually, your comment made me smile. :-)

grafted - thanks for the heads up on the BettyCrocker freebie!

quemaster - When I was offered a high renewal price last year for my Sunday only N&O subscription, I called and asked to speak with the retention department because I was planning on cancelling. I let them know that I was happy to continue my subscription if they would offer me the rate I had been paying. ($1.25 per week which includes tax for a total of $65 per year). I said I would pay in full for the year if they could offer that same rate again. They agreed and when it came due for renewal last week again, it was still at the $1.25 per week rate, so I renewed with no hassle. I recommend calling and letting them know you are happy to renew at the $1.25 per week rate and see what they say. What rate did they offer you for renewal?

Mothar and ThomasG, thanks so much for the good wishes on our wedding! :)

ThomasG - no offense taken LOL. We love you too :)

Faye, you are so smart about stacking stuff with Swagbucks. I'll have to remember to talk to you first before I buy anything pricey. I got Ebates and RetailMeNot down pretty well, but you are my Swagbucks guru! ;)

ThomasG~I know we no longer have a sales tax holiday weekend but if you are willing to wait until August and drive to SC you may be able to get a good deal. They are having tax free weekend from Aug7th-9th. See below

South Carolina: August 7-9. Clothing, school supplies, computers, printers, software, and certain bath and bedding items. See sc.gov for more details.

Wake County On Line Yard Sale on facebook regularly has listing of used laptops at what are good deals. I saw an i3 processor laptop recently for at or below $200.

Now, onto what I need: Time to renew the N&O subscriptions. Anybody know of any discounts for my 2 papers per Sunday habit?
