Thank you Faye. I'll sit back and wait for it, patiently lol

jtlnsw - sometimes it takes 3 or 4 days sometimes it does take closer to 10. I have not redeemed for a Target or Walmart GC for a while, but lately the Paypal and Starbucks GC's are only taking about 5 days.

    If anyone can help.

For redeeming swagbucks towards an e-gift card, say Target or Walmart. How long does it take to receive it? I noticed on the site it says up to 10 days, but does anyone know if it really takes that long?
    Thanks.

Aha: Retention Dept - more key words. I'll jot that down in my notes for next year; thanks Faye!

Dr D - And I am glad you were able to get them down! Thanks for sharing. :-)

Dr D - that is definitely the best way to get a better offer. If I let them know I am going to cancel and ask for the retention dept., I always get a better offer.

    N&O renewal, continued ...

Finally the CS said their terminology for allowing a subscription to expire was "cancel" and so I agreed that I wanted to cancel. Magic words, apparently. Then they said, please hold while I see if I can offer you a better rate so that you don't cancel. The "hold" was less than one second, no kidding. Then they reduced the 52 week rate from $89.44 to $72.67. In truth it's not 52 weeks, but more like 46 weeks, because of the "premium" holiday papers that they deliver and I've made clear many times I do *not* want but must toss into the recycle bin anyway. So I've renewed for another "year" (let's say 10 1/2 months) at $72.67 / 46 = $1.58 per paper. Better than driving to Walgreens for a paper weekly only to discover they're sold out.

Moral of the rant: Apparently you need to Cancel to be offered a better rate.

This type of comment gets posted periodically, so I thought I'd add mine. Called the N&O because my Sunday paper subscription is expiring and I didn't care for the renewal rate they sent to me. Very frustrating call. The person in CS had a thick accent and spoke rapidly, making it difficult to understand what they were saying, even after I repeatedly asked them to slow down and repeat things. I asked if I might be offered a better rate. They said no, this is the best rate available. I said then I would not plan to renew. They asked me if that meant I wanted to cancel my subscription. I said no, not cancel, just let it expire. They said they would automatically extend the subscription by 3 months if they didn't receive payment. I said no, just let it expire. They asked if that meant I wanted to cancel my subscription... and we went around in circles like this for a while. To be continued ...
