    I take my meat out of the store package. I divide it into serving sizes for my family and then wrap it in glad plastic wrap. Then I store it in freezer bags. I find it saves freezer space and I can take out a little or a lot depending on how many I am cooking for that day. The meat keeps good without freezer burn.

    Momoffi - I usually put it in a freezer bag in the original packaging if it will fit. Or I break it down into 1 lb meal sizes and then freeze in freezer bags.

    The following website recommends that you add another layer of wrap to the original packaging to keep it from getting freezer burn.

    Re: stocking up on meat... Can I freeze meat in its original container (styrofoam) or do I need to transfer it to freezer bags?
