It's kind of strange. When I lived in Apex, I had awesome tomato plants with no problems. At the new place in JoCo, I can't get a tomato plant to grow (or a rosemary plant) if my life depended on it. I've grown tomatoes all my life and have tried everything I can think of, but don't know what I'm doing wrong. Sadly, I have to rely on the farmers markets, but at least I can grow my own basil.

    Your are very Welcome !
I got some Basil yesterday -the plants are Very pretty & healthy- not to mention the SMELL is fantastic. The tomato plants are nice too - not limp or straggly - very hearty , lots of green leaves ( no yellowing and many have blooms and buds .

About the Food Lion/Giant merger - hope they will have double coupons. Lived in Maryland several years ago and wasn't that impressed with Giant - they could have changed and become better - sure hope so, if the merger happens.

Losltp - thanks for the heads up on the 4/$10 herbs! It's definitely time to get some basil in the ground! :)

That's interesting that FL may be merged into Giant. Giant owns Stop & Shop which is the store I usually frequent when I'm at my Dad's. They have some very good deals, but some of their policies are odd too. With their BOGO, you literally have to buy them both or pay full price for just one. I only made that mistake once!!

They often have coupons in their flyer -- this week's included one for a free head of iceberg lettuce and $0.99 grape tomatoes among others. The variety of things they stock is much better too, although I don't know that our poor little FLs have the space to include it.

The parent company of Food Lion may be merging with the parent company of Giant (and their stores have better coupon policies). See the details here:
