    Thanks Faye.

Dr D - A PC World article I found online said this: "Generally inkjet printers have a price per page of around 20 cents, although this includes both black and colour cartridges — if you intend to print only black, ongoing print costs are generally 7-8 cents per page. Cheap black-and-white laser printers have a price of around 6c per page on average. "

I don't ever miss having the option to print in color and I have found no instances where it was necessary, even for the kids and their homework. And generally I have fewer issues with printable coupons scanning correctly than I did with the inkjet coupons that were not as crisp.

Thanks again, everyone, for the printer and ink info. Our HP all-in-one had a setting for printing Black Only also, but it still used up the color inks even while in that setting; most often the magenta and yellow needed replacing.

DrD: re printer cartridges. The laser cartridges for the brothers that use tn450 can be bought refilled cheaper than new. I bought one from combo ink that has worked fine. The per use price is cheaper with laser printers vs inkjet especially when you print a lot.

I don't print in color much DrD, there is also an option in the setting where you can change it to print black and white only even if it is a colored page.

Dr D - We have a HP All-in-One that prints color and 99% of the time we just use black and white.

Thanks for the Brother printer info, Faye and Raesmom! Of course now that I've visited their website and seen they have (of course) many models to choose from, I have additional questions. Faye, you mentioned yours is a laser printer, and I seem to recall some discussion that over time the laser printer cartridges might be less expensive printing per page than ink jet cartridges. Do you have any info on that? And question for both Faye and Raesmom or anyone else, the HP all-in-one that I'm replacing was a color inkjet, but we found that we rarely printed in color, even when the kiddos were using it for school projects, so we're considering just black and white this time ... Do you find you have a need for printing in color very often?

Thanks VLYNN. That really hurts for those of us trying to eat healthy (fewer preservatives).

TWINREDHEADS: it has definitely gone up! The grind your own used to be $6.99 at whole foods, but it's now $9.99 a pound, and it's $8.99 a pound at the cameron village fresh market.

Does anyone know if the price of almonds has gone up? I used to pay $7.49 for a jar of HTs almond butter and now it is $9.49! I really don't want to switch brands as the former price was a great deal on almond butter that ONLY has almonds in it. I'm wondering if it is cheaper to get the grind your own at Fresh Market now. Anyone know the price on the Fresh Market almond butter?
