NANEE NEELION- Thank you! He has cardiology doctor at UNC that's is working right now to request a FAMILION BLOOD Test for CPVT- Luckily his on vacation from his school so I'm less worried but when he comes back to school that's different story. It's killing him right now not able to play because for his age and size his very talented baseball player, his a lefty pitcher and can throw like 53 miles per hour for his small size and can hit a ball hard.

MIACARRE, I am so sorry to hear about your son. I have already started praying for him. A nurse I was talking to recently with my insurance company gave me a site to look up my problem. It's net.org.forrarediseases. Maybe you can find some more information there.

There has to be something causing it to happen and so unusual that it reoccurred. My husband has had syncope spells for about two years when they finally took him off his BP meds, which finally ended a two year period of rushing to the hospital when he fainted and his BP dropped. They did not know what was wrong with him either. Have you thought about Chapel Hill or Duke? Just trying to think of something to help you. I know that has got to be so scary for you all. You probably don't want him away from you at all and you know the little guy wants to pay sports. Just know we are praying for an answer for you.

NANEE LION- yes that's what I read too, my 9 year son is getting a Genetic blood test for CPVT his having a reoccurring syncope or fainting without reason, first experienced when he was 6 years old, they give him a stress test and a full cardiac catherization but came out normal. He has 3 episodes 2 years ago and now came back 2 days ago. My husband and I is trying to research about this symptoms because its scary for us, since my son was very active and play a lot of baseball can't play until he gets the genetic blood test and also another stress test.

miacarre What is catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia?

I found this on-line, hope it helps!

Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a condition characterized by an abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia). As the heart rate increases in response to physical activity or emotional stress, it can trigger an abnormally fast and irregular heartbeat called ventricular tachycardia. Episodes of ventricular tachycardia can cause light-headedness, dizziness, and fainting (syncope). In people with CPVT, these episodes typically begin in childhood.

If CPVT is not recognized and treated, an episode of ventricular tachycardia may cause the heart to stop beating (cardiac arrest), leading to sudden death. Researchers suspect that CPVT may be a significant cause of sudden death in children and young adults without recognized heart abnormalities.

Quarterly Co. has several of their past subscription boxes at 50% off (including 2 Nina Garcia boxes!!) Yes, they are still pretty expensive ($50), but if you love luxury items including hair care, accessories and beauty items, they are a great deal. Also would be a nice gift for someone. There were also a few themed ones for kids, men and tech options (some cost less). http://www.bestofquarterly.com/
