Janet - invest in good knives...even if you only get one at a time. I like a 5" utility knife and a paring knife, to start, and wash them by hand. Sometimes at Tuesday Morning, Home Goods, Marshall's you can get one at a better price. Pots - I have various assortment of brands, some were wedding gifts, don't feel like you need to get then all at once. Is go with a 9" or so stainless steel saucepan with removable lid, 3 quart pot (spaghetti/soups) and 1 quart pot. I do like a nonstick pan with a smooth lip for making eggs

Does anyone have any extra Scholastic book code that were on boxes of Kellogg's cereal recently? Today is the last day to enter codes and I need one more. I can trade coke rewards. Thanks! sarahoconnor@me.com

Just used my $2 off $10 at Dollar General. Got 2 angel soft TP lavender scent and used 2 $1 coupons. There was also a buggy at the front of the store 50% off. Found 2 Jif peanut butters in there.

I'm on my own for supper tonight so I will continue to clean out our freezers and eat whatever I find in there :) I was able to combine all of our food into only one of our upright freezers last night so we can thaw out the other one and sell it!

Salvation Army problem was reported on wral noon news on Monday. They updated on the 5:00 news and most of the shelves were full. People in our area really respond to need.

Can you help? Posted on the Smart Shopper Facebook page by Erin today:

"Wake County Public School System shared this note today: "Sadly, last weekend the Salvation Army announced that their shelves were empty and they were going to suspend providing food to families. Many of our students and families depend on services such as this for meals. We are asking our WCPSS community to help. Part of our vision is to make sure all children are challenged to reach their full potential; in order for that to be possible, they need nutritious food.

We will be collecting non-perishable food items starting today through noon on Thursday, April 2 for the Salvation Army to distribute over the Easter Holidays. DROP OFF LOCATIONS: WCPSS, Crossroads 1, 5625 Dillard Drive, Cary or Crossroads 2, 110 Corning Road, Cary. Thanks to all in advance for your support!" It sounds like it is time for us couponers to thin out our stockpiles and chip in."

Here's a question I received from reader Janet about cook ware. Does anyone have suggestions?:

"I would love to ask your readers (and great cooks) about what type/brand Cookwear (pots and pans) they have and what they like and not like about them. Where did they buy them and what pots are their must have. Time to update/replace mine with a set that will last years and years. Thanks."
