Posted this under the Checkout 51 thread, and am re-posting here, followed by another comment/observation.

If you have the $0.50 off any Folgers coffee offer in your Checkout 51 list this week, HT has the single serve instant "stick" packs, 7 ct, on sale for $0.99 and there's also a $0.25 MQ, so this should end up being free after the sale, coupon, and Checkout 51 credit.

When I went to upload my receipt for Checkout 51 today, I noticed my offer list included $0.50 off any loaf of sliced bread. Hmmm ... went back to my Thursday e-mail from them and re-read it but it did not show the bread offer. So I guess you really need to log into your Checkout 51 account to see your full list of offers each week. Was planning to pick up bread tomorrow at Aldi anyway, and now it's going to be an even better savings. :-)

Claytonsaver - I had that one show up in my inbox, too! So between it, a $15 reward certificate that I got for all the Christmas shopping I had done at Kohl's and a 20% off coupon along with 60-70% off cashmere socks and 40% a Vera Wang pocketbook my total OOP was $22.19 with a savings of $68.21. I do love my Kohl's!!

scoutmomof2- Yup! sounds like the same or similar recipe to what I make. Whenever I can get laundry detergent for free or next to nothing at the store I do and save the bottles and refill them with the detergent I make. I have 2 boys as well so I feel your pain. :)

Thanks AMYSDC, I have most of the ingredients on hand. Even though I have some Tide and All that I bought on sale I thought I would give it a try to make more. I think the recipe I found called for water, a bar of soap, Borox and washing soda. My two sons go through a lot of laundry.

I make my own laundry detergent, it's great! Huge money saver! I made a 10 gallon recipe for maybe $7-$10 last summer and I'm maybe a quarter of the way through it, with a family of 4. And still have left over ingredients for the next batch... whenever I do run out.

Has anyone here tried making their own laundry detergent. I have found a couple links on pinterest ( which I have found it very addictive but it does offer lots of ideas) that have the recipe and it looks like it could save some money but was wondering if anyone here has tried it?
