losltp - when I have used Groupons for events, I often call the venue to make sure they are accepting them. If you are nervous about making a long drive to use a Groupon for an event, you may want to call before you leave to put your mind at ease. I have used Groupons for hotels out of town, concerts, amusement park tickets out of town and many local restaurants. And I think you are right about multiplying by 10 on the pine straw! :-)

    Faye
After so many bales aren't you allowed to multiply by 10 ( so 10 would be 100 ) - he he he !
    Wishing you a relaxing evening
I bet your yard will be beautiful for your event !
Thank You for ALL you do !
    I had also heard about resturants.com -

losltp- well, maybe that was a little exaggeration. lol We did put down 65 bales though. We have number of planters that needed a serious spruce up before a big family event in mid June. My body is not amused. Must take Advil......

teecee - I am pretty sure you are talking about restaurant.com and I agree. I have bought a number of those certificates in the past and then the restaurant went out of business or stopped taking them so I have not bought a deal from them in years.

    Thank You for replying !

I feel better now about the deal !
Yes the swagbucks are a nice "extra" for me !

I just was worried aboutdriving to the coast or the mountains and be turned away from possibly a one in a lifetime event !

Did you re-seed your yard , Faye ? that is a lot of pine straw ! lol

I have heard good things about groupon !!
but one of the other "social " sites that offers resturant offers gets a bad grade from my family as well as others I have heard from .
We were given a certificate to a very nice resturant and it was refused !
Another one of our favorite resturants has a large sign saying they do NOT accept coupons/certificates from a certain online site/vendor anymore
Happy Early Birthday to your husband !!

losltp~i LOVE groupon!!!! and living social as well. I've used them both a billion times. If you do swagbucks make sure you buy through them (like ebates) bc you get SB's for your purchase. I've purchased small things like dinner and passes to Monkey Joe's for Rae all the way up to a skydiving package deal for the hubby last Christmas, we just went to go see Elmo using a groupon yesterday and I purchased a groupon for Goodnites comedy club to give to the hubby on fathers day.

    Hope that helps good luck!!!

losltp - I have bought Groupons for years and I do not recall a negative experience. We even used one last night for our sushi dinner! :-)

Thanks for posting the Swag Codes, Grandview and Dr D! I was was out in the yard putting down 10,000 bales of pine straw and missed the code by 10 minutes, but hopefully others were able to get the code.

    QUESTION about GROUPON
Has anyone had a bad experience ??
I was looking at a couple of deals for my husband's birthday ( shopping early ) but have never done one of these "social" deals before .

Thank You for all feedback !

Sorry I misunderstood thinking you only needed the vehicle .

DO the "rent a handyman" type services offer such a service ?

It would be nice of some community group did have some sort of assistance for people with such needs.

    Good Luck 1

LOSLTP- thanks! We've actually used those before, but it's not the vehicle that is the problem. It is the weight... my DH and I couldn't even budge it. And honestly, as we're getting older, it's getting harder and harder to find friends to help out... especially when it involves moving things lol! :-)
