Faye - I believe that's what they finally ended up doing, but the salesperson had to have a manager come over to help. (The manager pretty much repeated what the employee had told me, but eventually figured out a way to do the transaction without making me buy something additional to make up the difference.)

Thanks for explaining it in a way I can explain back to them next time, but it won't surprise me if they tell me they can't do it.

Kool Aid, buy 10 get 3 free coupon

Swag code for 3 SB's available through 11 pm Friday night: Beauty

DianeNC - CVS only takes off a coupon amount up to the value of the product. They just made the coupon .88. I have never been told to buy something else when using a kiosk coupon to get up the amount of the coupon. They just lower the coupon amount to cover the price of the product.

I just came from my local CVS to pick up what I thought was supposed to be a free box of Puff's tissues - they're on sale for $0.88 and the CVS coupon machine has a coupon for $1.00. As in the past, they tried to get me to buy something else, because they said they couldn't ring up a negative transaction (since the coupon was more than the cost of the Puff's.) Eventually, they figured out some way to process the transaction without my having to buy something else, but was curious, what was the correct way this should have been handled? Was I supposed to buy something else to make up for the difference in cost?

CVS's coupon policy does state, "The total value of the coupons may not exceed the value of the transaction. Sales tax must be paid, if required by state law," so am wondering if I was the one that was in the wrong here, which would not surprise me, LOL.

Ditto on what everyone else said... really appreciate this group! ;-) Not sure if these were mentioned previously, as I haven't been to Kroger in a while, but today I found the Finish Powerballs for $3.79. Many are still left with the "try me free" rebate sticker up to $4.50 (Falls location)! Also, the Kettle chips were $1.49 each if you buy 5. With the $1 off coupon ( zip code 03103) they are as low as 49 cents each depending on how many you can print. And Cabo Guac (produce section) is .79 after the $3 coupon on their FB page.

I was at Staples today picking up my box of multipurpose paper and the cashier commented that the stack of paper had gone down a lot this week. I told him that the coupon blogs were talking about it. He had never heard of a coupon blog, so I got to tell him about the Smartshopper blog. :-)

That's too funny, raesmom1612. You must have turned five shades of red, LOL. I tell people about this blog and about Faye all the time, too (and they're always thrilled to hear that such a site exists!) I was telling someone recently about this blog and the website, and she grabbed whatever she could find to write both of them down!

I know I ask a lot questions, and probably am not Faye's favorite contributor here, but I do appreciate her and this blog very much. I feel like we are almost a type of "community" here on this site, and don't know how I'd be able to make ends meet without the invaluable information shared here.
