Thanks! I'm heading to Earp's for them and will check the Farmer's Market. Like you I'm picky about clams and generally don't eat them unless I'm at the beach or dig my own. But, I need them. Earp's sounds like the place!

Just a quick heads up about my husband, we saw the cardiologist yesterday and Fred has the all clear for surgery. It's scheduled on Sept. 12. They will do a biopsy of his lymph nodes to see if the cancer has spread. If it hasn't then they will remove as little of his left lung as they can. If it has spread then their going to close him up and send us to an oncologist. Today is is last day of work. He may return in January. He's going to try for disability since between his heart and now lungs, he's not sure if he has the energy to continue working. He was planning on retiring next year anyway so we're hoping he qualifies.

Does anyone know if Dollar General will take a store coupon with a Manufacturer coupon? Thanks.

Two more quick notes about the Lowes Foods stores that are closing:

    - Meat and produce are now 25% off (they weren't included in any markdown up until now), but in the Cary store, there hasn't been any produce since they started the store closing markdowns a few weeks ago, and there were only a handful of meat items left.

    - Originally, the Cary store included beer in the store closing markdowns, and then said they weren't supposed to be doing that and stopped. (They said the wine was being shipped back to their vendors.) Guess what? What little beer and wine that is left is included once again in the 40 percent store markdown. (I didn't see any wine, and there was only a handful of beer left - a few six packs, single bottles, single cans.)

Made it over to the Lowes Foods in Cary earlier tonight (the one that's closing), after seeing RaleighFoodBlogger's post about the Lowes Foods in Raleigh already going to the final 40% store markdown. (Their press release stated this would not happen until Friday.)

By the time I got there, things were pretty picked over, unfortunately, but it could have been a lot worse if RaleighFoodBlogger hadn't provided that heads-up to everyone. (Thanks again, RaleighFoodBlogger!) :)

I still think there are going to be some ticked-off customers who show up on Friday morning for what was supposed to be when these two stores went to 40% off, only to find almost everything already gone.

It was fairly crowded (for a Lowes Foods store, I guess, LOL), and some items were no where to be found (i.e. cosmetics, milk, orange juice, dairy, etc.). I wasn't organized, in respect to my coupons, for this happening today, but was able to pick up a few items. Will try again tomorrow morning.

I'm confused about the Staples deal - the coupon states it's free "after easy rebate and with coupon." In their weekly sales circular, it says it's $21.99 after easy rebate, but the regular price is $49.99. Is that how much everyone is paying out-of-pocket up front? I'm confused as to why folk are saying it's "free".

(Also - can the 25% back in rewards coupon be used along with the above offer?)

aneal426 - definitely a call to Target corporate is in order. It sounds like they did not handle your coupons correctly. Were they SmartSource coupons by chance? If so, it could be this:

Thanks Faye for the swag bucks!

Faye - Nope, she didn't even scan them. It was the manager because my cashier had asked for help because he was unsure of how many coupons he could take and which ones.
