Not sure if these have already been posted:

Free Redbox movie rental at any kiosk now through September 25 with code MCPC213S.

50% off a large pizza from Papa John's through the month of September with code TRAC50. (I believe this is for online orders only.)

    (Thanks to HeyItsFree.net!)

Didn't want to appear insensitive. Hadn't seen your post Faye or the news today. Puts things in perspective.

North Raleigh Dad - I found a similar deal on TotallyTarget.com for cat products. Love that site! (The gal that runs it doesn't work for Target or anything like that, but similar to this blog, between the info the site owner provides and the contributions of those who post there, you find out all kinds of great deals!)

Free Pantene styling products at Target! I was reading the Totally Target site Faye mentioned and came across a deal worth sharing: Buy 3 Pantene styling products and get a $10.00 Target gift card. On Coupons.com there are 2 coupons. One for 1. off one Pantene product and another for 2. off 2 styling products. Print them twice and here's what happens: Buy 3 mouse or styling gel for $11.97 minus 3. coupons for 8.97 minus 5% (.60) Target Cartwheel so net after tax is 8.46 so after 10. Gift Card it is a 1.54 MM. I thought that since there is no limit and you can print the coupons twice I could use that Gift Card to repeat the purchase on 3 more. You end up with 6 Free Mouse or Gel and make 3.08. My mouse days are gone but North Raleigh Mom will appreciate it!!

I have to admit, between my many friends who are suffering through the floods and destruction in my hometown in Colorado and the 12 dead in DC, I am finding it very hard to focus on coupons right now. Taking a break and will get back to it after carpool. So thankful I can see my kids soon and tell them how much I love them. You really just never know what will happen from day to day.....

Meredith, here's a link to a Halloween article I wrote in 2010 with info on saving for Halloween including candy tips. I plan to do another Halloween post once we get to October.

Regarding candy price, for chocolate, I try to stay at $1.50 per 9-11 oz bag or less (ideally $1 after coupons and drug store rewards).

If you buy lollipops or non-candy items like temp. tatoos, you will come in at a better per-piece cost.

The prices we are seeing this week at the drug stores are not buy prices for me. I am holding out for better prices.

We don't get many trick or treaters at my house because it is on a hill and the kids don't want to walk up the hill, so I only have to buy 1 bag.

The deals will get better as we get closer to Halloween.

Faye, with only a month and a half until Halloween I wanted to see what your advice is for getting a good deal on candy. Do you have a "per piece" price or "per pound" that you aim for? Also, do you find it's better to shop early or wait until closer for possible sales? Thanks!
