P.S. I went to the HT on Harrison Avenue in Cary.

lkg8 - I had the same problem with chicken drumsticks just this past week! I didn't know about the double money back guarantee. Good to know. They were supposed to be good for another week and they stunk up my entire fridge, I had to throw them out. :(

Good job jdouglas! Sorry you won't be able to get to SD. I hope everything is ok.

bsrs - Welcome to the Triangle! We are so glad you have joined us here on the blog!

I do not compile a specific list just for price matching at Walmart or Target (they also price match) but you can use the list that is published on Thursdays called Just the Basics for the information. It lists all the produce and meat deals and many other deals for the week from the various stores I do a deals list for. That should be what you need in order to know what produce is on sale at the various stores. Most Walmart stores in the area are good about price matching product from Aldi (who has some of the very best produce prices around) but not all will do it. I have price-matched many times at Walmart and I know many others here on the blog do as well. Hope that helps!

I'm new to the triangle, and this blog has been extremely helpful. I'm curious, though, if you ever compile a list for price matching produce at Walmart.

(Maybe it's not very common in NC because every time I've done it the cashier says it's his or her first time ever price matching, but I thought I'd ask anyway)

Just a teeny Day Before SD brag, since it's not likely I'll get to HT for SD: total retail $39.33, OOP $19.29 for a jar of bouillon cubes, sesame seeds, clorox cleanup, steel wool soap pads, 2 boxes of envelopes, 3 pkgs Nathan's hot dogs, a head of cabbage, 4 cans of tomato paste, and 10 cans of 28-oz Tuttorosso tomatoes. :)

Just a reminder that tomorrow, August 14, participating Penn Station East Coast Subs will be giving away a free 21 oz. Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade (or Fresh-Brewed Iced Tea) with any sandwich purchase. (No printed reward required.)

(Love their Reuben sandwich and fresh-cut fries!)

Haven't had any problems at any of the HT's I have been shopping at.

This might not be the best place to post this, but...has anyone else had issues with Harris Teeter's meat section lately? We have purchased quite a few different items recently that we have had to take back to the store because the smell was so foul. In the past 2-3 weeks we have returned 3 chicken packages and a lamb package. Unfortunately, another one we just ended up throwing away.

I will say it has been nice that they offer the double your money back guarantee, but I just want to have fresh meat when I get home- not double my money!

Oh, and FYI this has been at the Harris Teeter on 55 in Apex at the Peakway.

DianeNC: I have seen some blinkies in the past that did not contain the DND message and have doubled with no problem. That said, I have also had them with the DND message and they STILL doubled! :-)
