Thank you, Comprehend!! What a nice compliment!

Just to clarify, I did do some cooking, but there was NO bread baking while the AC was out LOL! That's where I drew the line.

Roasted tomatoes: Cut them up however you like, or use the little grape tomatoes which can be left whole. Toss with a bit of EVOO, a grind of sea salt, and put them in the oven. You want to use something like a roasting pan or half sheet pan. I can't really give you an oven temp, because I've never really noticed. 375 - 400 is my usual go-to temp. If you want to make sauce, you may want to remove the skin and seeds and use roma tomatoes. Let the liquid cook out and then puree ONCE COOLED with either a blender or an immersion blender, but not a food processor unless you want a big mess. ;) Roasted tomatoes are awesome with pasta. No need to puree. Fresh basil, a little garlic, a drizzle of EVOO and a grating of parm are all you need for a bowl of heaven.

I was shocked by the price too - the person who quoted me $25 for the 25 lb is a place I have bought from in the past that usually will negotiate - I may have to visit the place in person - late in the day and try again lol.
My other trusted supplier has already sold out and shut down for the season . They could almost plant another round now and it mature before frost !
I can not speak for others but as far as I am concerned ANY of your recipes and cooking hints are ALWAYS welcome - PLEASE !!

I can not believe what a trooper you are struggling to cook with no AC - even bake bread !! You are amazing !!

Wildfrenchrose - our brains were literally fried by the time we bought the AC, so we didn't even try to price them. We bought it at Lowes: 8000 BTU good for ~325 sq. ft. for $232 pretax. They had a 6000 BTU for $167, and larger ones as well.

Comprehend, $25 sounds pretty high to me too. I try to negotiate, usually successfully, for the boxes of canning tomatoes when I'm at the Farmers' Market.

Roasting does amazing things to even the saddest winter tomato. Let me know if you want more details. :)

comprehend-that is the same deal running on the six flags website, which is what I'll do for the me and my oldest. I was able to get 2 kids tickets on ebay for 10.00 each and she is even overnighting them to me for no extra charge!! I couldn't beat that. It helped make up for the not as good deal on the adult tickets. (They are cheaper the further in advance you order them) Thanks for checking for me!

RetailMeNot has a couple of discount offers on tickets to Six Flags .
I have never used the site nor am I affliated with it in any way .
Someone else can probably help you better than I can on how to get these deals .
One offer did say you have to buy 3 days in advance.
Good Luck and have a Fun Trip .

I am working on the grocery deals starting tomorrow and should have them up soon.

Thanks for the SB code, ddalmas!

Diane - if a store allows DND coupons to double it is not fraud on your part. You did nothing but present the coupon. It is up to the store as to whether or not they double it.
