Found a deal today? Here's the place to share it!

Have a question that doesn't fit into any of the other threads? Here's the place to ask it.

When posting about deals you have read on other blogs: Please don't copy and paste work from other people's coupon blogs directly on to this blog. It's fine to rephrase the information and then just include something like: "Thanks to for the info". We don't want to have copyright issues here on the blog because someone copied and pasted deals from another blogger.  Thanks for your help with this!

Forgot to add - the special packages of duracell batteries at WalMart were a special display found in various places around the store -
    one near summer /seasonal stuff
    another near electronics
    one was near pharmacy
all easy to see if you are looking for them

CVS store brand batteries are BOGO ( decent batteries )
Duracells are also on sale at CVS (Durham ad : $11.99 per package - battery count varies - AA & AAA are 12 count )- OK deal if you have coupons and/or ECB .
WalMart has the duracell 12 plus 4 free packages for $12.99 ( AA & AAA).

Saw a lady in the Commissary today shopping without coupons and trying to find some "cheap" cheese. I told her she needed to get some coupons and follow Faye's blog on WRAL. Her family may have just got stationed here, but with the furlough starting, coupons are definitely going to help military families save.

cokesburyfarm, I don't go through a lot of batteries, mostly AA & AAA, and those go on sale at Staples, free after rewards, a couple times a year, usually the 16 count packs. I stocked up 2 Xmases ago, and we'll still make it into the New Year if every battery powered device needs replacing, twice, between now and then.

With that said, I've had OK luck with double coupons stacked with E-VIC coupons at Harris Teeter for other battery sizes. When you can't find a deal, and you need the battery, there's always Walmart's "Everyday Low Prices" which are generally not so great, but if you can't find them on sale somewhere their price is OK.

A battery tip: if you have something w/ batteries that you don't use all the time, flip the batteries around when you're not using it to make them last longer. For instance, in a flashlight, if you if you leave them pointing the correct way, it drains power even when it's not turned on.

Thus works great in my old-school MP3 player that runs on an AAA battery. I use it at the gym to hear the TV or listen to music, and I flip the battery around when I I'm done working out. The battery lasts at least 3 times as long now!
