Found a deal today? Here's the place to share it!

Have a question that doesn't fit into any of the other threads? Here's the place to ask it.

When posting about deals you have read on other blogs: Please don't copy and paste work from other people's coupon blogs directly on to this blog. It's fine to rephrase the information and then just include something like: "Thanks to xyz.com for the info". We don't want to have copyright issues here on the blog because someone copied and pasted deals from another blogger.  Thanks for your help with this!

I will probably go to the farmer's market also this weekend. I need produce and we are out of sausage again. Nahunta is the best.

Faye, I know what you mean, I'm craving some good fresh produce, see a trip to the Farmers Market in my future this weekend :)

    carelesswhisper,

You might also want to check out woot, specifically the tech page for the tablet sale. They have several reconditioned ones right now and shipping is always $5.

    carelesswhisper,

With regard to tablets, the Nook is an excellent choice. The price is good and the memory is expandable with a card. However, the way it is configured most of the memory is reserved for products you purchase from Barnes and Noble. I had (til someone stole it) a Nook Color I purchased from Craigslist and then jailbroke and put the cyanogenmod OS on it and it functioned as a regular android tablet. I just picked up another on for $40 and intend to do the same to take to my dad in rehab. The system is better then the Kindle but I can install amazon on it since they have more free apps and books available, plus the google play store.

The reviews on the Nexus 7 are excellent, however there is another tablet being released next month, the Asus Memo HD 7 which is getting really good reviews and is priced very nicely. The storage is also expandable plus a front and rear camera. I am holding out for that one.

True confessions of a grocery shopper. I am seeing a TLC series out of this one, jdouglas. LOL

You are so right though. Sometimes it is worth it to pay a little more for good quality.

I am just happy my kids love fruits and veggies so much (unlike so many of their friends).

Faye, when you are getting something that's really good quality, it's going to cost a little more. It's like the reggiano parmesan I get all crazy about when it goes on sale at HT. For me, there is no comparison to any of the pregrated parm.

Sure sounds like the fruit you bought was well worth every penny and you will enjoy it immensely!

My confession -- I actually bought a loaf of bread this afternoon for $3 at Lowes, and then a container of sour cream that I thought was going to net out at $1.10, but I screwed up reading the coupon -- it was off 2 containers. I bought it anyway. Bad shopper! ;)

ncveteranswife - Thanks for the input. :-) A cantaloupe and watermelon at our local stand is about the same price (Cantaloupe $3 and watermelon is $6). We eat a lot of frozen fruit in the winter as well.
